Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

Will nobody think of the vulnerable people? Is it “wait for a drug” or is it “find the biological anomalies before trying to address them” Paul?

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Something fluctuating won’t “constantly apply” to functional criteria though, will it? Horrible wording.

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

There’s a lot which is curious about the story, but firstly why couldnt he just have had Post-Viral Fatigue? If an effective treatment comes along for ME/CFS, how can we physically rehabilitate ourselves?

I understand there are whole swathes of the NHS who are just jumping at the chance for us to regularly increase our activity, so we should be grand/s

Fibromyalgia syndrome—am I an autoimmune condition?, 2025, Goebel

I thought you were supposed to catch ME from distress and FMS from a car crash? That’s why my early diagnosis was so difficult, divorced parents and been unharmed in a car accident a month before, so it was hard to choose. Maybe they should have brought in a tarot reader.

That is the case in its current iteration. By linking PIP to LCWRA/UC Health in the future, it will be difficult to separate them even though there will still be in-work PIP claimants.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

I think that’s already occurred to the disabled campaigners who have been working tirelessly on this for months… Google is your friend for government figures.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

If the bill was defeated it would be taken away and re-written. Instead, it’s been amended and passed. Either version will still result in disability benefits being cut, to be honest. It’s just a stay of execution.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

2/3rds of my income and I’d lose some of the remaining third because I’d be sanctioned for not looking for work. Under the original proposals, PIP is 1/3, lost as I don’t get 4 points. LCWRA or UC Health as it’s known now is 1/3, lost as I don’t get PIP. Also carer would lose allowance as you...
