Employers’ Long Game for Long Covid, 2025, Conard et al

Seems like high expectations for employers in the US, who don’t even let people take annual leave.

    Are people with ME/CFS immunocompromised?

I get the flu jab under the WHO “neurological” classification being the reason I’m entitled. I’m such an anti-recovery activist! It’s probably not even neurological is it.

2025: UK MEA Article and Video: ME/CFS: What you need to know about the disease

Good luck with that, my GP wouldn’t be getting involved. One once wrote a letter that they didn’t really know me or my situation so they couldn’t comment.

2025: UK MEA Article and Video: ME/CFS: What you need to know about the disease

You definitely need these carefully tailored personal things from experts who do not exist and will not be involved in your care at any stage. These fairytales just get repeated across guidance. It gives false hope to people. It sets them up to be let down.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

I want to see the venn diagram of people unfit to work (LCWRA) and on PIP, then on PIP with no 4’s for daily living. My LCWRA assessment is really well written but PIP won’t look at it, despite it being in the bundle.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

UC WCAs have skyrocketed as ESA WCAs declined, as I expected. https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/universal-credit-work-capability-assessment-statistics-april-2019-to-june-2024/universal-credit-work-capability-assessment-statistics-april-2019-to-june-2024

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

I still think the drop in ESA assessments was from Covid, then due to it being phased out. Because they don’t still have a backlog, and the drop is huge, hundreds of thousands. And also not everyone having a WCA has applied for ESA.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

WCA is separate from PIP, it’s not even carried out by the same contractors. I had WCA in west London and PIP in South, although I didn’t attend PIP in person, but WCA I was required to attend between lockdowns. So PIP is unlikely to affect WCA assessments carried out to date, although they...

    Episodes of slowed movement

I only had this when I was first ill, I looked really odd walking so slowly, it only lasted a few days. I just couldn’t move any faster. Now I start off normal, decline, then stop. Sometimes I feel like the gravity is heavier than usual, I’m in a crash and it’s like that now, like a force is...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Interesting, but I didn’t apply for ESA. I applied for UC, was sick and then was referred for WCA, and was then awarded LCWRA. So me and anyone like me wouldn’t be counted in these stats? Massive reduction in assessments from Covid onwards, is that because ESA was being phased out at the time?

    Ear Pressure, “Ear Barotrauma”

Nope, if I do a “lunch out with friends” thing we will reach a point where I have to leave “because I’m tired and deaf in one ear” it gets blocked like you say, my hearing is fine afterwards. I get it as immediate fatigue and it can happen in PEM too.

The Implications and Predictability of Sleep Reversal for People with [ME/CFS]: A Machine Learning Approach, 2025, Dietrich, Jason et al

When I had to work, I had to get up. Sleep or no sleep. I used to have weeks where I’d come home and go to bed, get 8 hours then be up at 3am, ready to face the day! Or I’d be “tired and wired” getting up late and chugging coffee. I have been known to take the afternoon off because I couldn’t...

New article in the spectator mentions ME/CFS and death threats.

I don’t think there’s been any substantive research, does anyone know of any papers on Chronic Pain/Chronic Physical Diseases levels in ISIS? What about surveying Violent Offenders currently in jail, maybe they all have tendinitis or impacted wisdom teeth? Would mindfulness have prevented WWII/s

New article in the spectator mentions ME/CFS and death threats.

Luigi isn’t even particularly unpopular on the internet. Lots of people (in USA I think) think what he did was inevitable, there are so many stories of people not just being denied treatment, but quite obviously being led a merry dance, terms being changed, surgeons called out from starting an...

Monitoring app - Visible - a platform "designed for any invisible illness that benefits from resting and pacing - including ME/CFS & Long Covid."

I had a look back and a lot of that thread is from when it was first set up. It’s developed since then and things might have changed. Personally I don’t like the “prescriptive” vibe some people have. Visible is a tool, it’s there if I need it, I can’t sweat the small stuff. It’s not my master...

Monitoring app - Visible - a platform "designed for any invisible illness that benefits from resting and pacing - including ME/CFS & Long Covid."

Hi There is a visible thread but it’s not very active, I’ll have to look for it. Personally, I like Visible I find it user-friendly. You can do the morning check-in which gives you a score based on your HRV trend. Although, you don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. You can see on a...

2025: UK MEA Article and Video: ME/CFS: What you need to know about the disease

Perhaps if anyone wishes to push back, they could ask for the source/references for the statements made within the film? If she has a PhD surely she has reference material? And if she doesn’t, that should give her a gentle hint, rather than a line-by-line criticism?

    United Kingdom: ME Association news

I tried the other week but the link didn’t work. Discord has a reputation for being a cesspit, but I guess like any board, it depends which part you frequent. Parts of Reddit are outrageous, other parts are very dull.

The ELAROS NHS digital system for patient/clinician digital sharing questionnaire data, includes Yorkshire Rehab. Scale and Open-OH app

I’m sure they would offer discount for bulk purchases. Even if you didn’t much care for the app, you’d get a polar heart monitor.

The ELAROS NHS digital system for patient/clinician digital sharing questionnaire data, includes Yorkshire Rehab. Scale and Open-OH app

I wonder what it costs? And how the cost compares to Visible* *I know not everyone is a fan of Visible but at least it’s based on some science and uses FUNCAP. It’s not likely to cause damage, or harm. If the NHS said they were offering one or the other, and neither isn’t an option, Visible is...
