Split from Possibility of ME or PVFS after COVID-19, Long Covid

Just made the mistake of listening to part of "Trisha Greenhalgh Webinar on Long-COVID". Was hosted by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research in a series on Long-Covid, ME & more.

Blood still boiling. Basically said PACE was good research and went on about small, vocal group of patients ............ Can't even type it. Total gaslighting. Then gave example of prominent British physician who was first wary of graded exercise and later used it to successfully recover.

Am in Canada & wasn't familiar with Trisha Greenhalgh before watching. Is she actually involved in the NICE reviews? That's the impression she made.

ScottTriGuy thanks for getting your comment in.

She seemed to think she was but when people have tracked down names she does not seem to be there. Not sure.

The idea that anyone should be defending PACE at this stage is horrendous.

Was a webinar in a series put on by the Canadian Institute of Health Research this morning. Will post when it's up.

Confusing as this is the organization that is supportive of Dr Alain Moreau's work.

ScottTriGuy can you add to this?

So now Greenhalgh has been given a platform to spread disinformation about us, continues to be good pals with the creators of this disinformation. And she was definitely involved in the LC guidelines, which happen to completely miss out on just that.

She actually lied about the PACE trial. Today. In a presentation that was supposed to inform about ME, instead used to disinform. This is just great. With allies like this.

Tweet from previous post taken down.

Am extremely disappointed in Karim Khan. What a horrible thing to do at this point (or any point) aren't we past all this?

ETA: Sadly there does not seem to be any charity organisation willing to take this kind of thing on here.

The above series of tweets by Peter White (a patient but not with ME and definitely not PDW)
is one of the best series of tweets I've seen that clearly and directly lays out the problem with politicised thinking from the BPS cabal and it's supporters. Has anyone on twitter called out Karim Khan for this disaster of an invite to speak?

I continue to realise why I keep away from twitter.
I might have commented on the pseudo-deep position of the hand in the mugshot on the advert.

She just recently published an article telling people that you shouldn't block your critics and instead engage with them...

She has not clarified any of the claims. Merely said "look at other things I wrote", which all confirm this is what she believes. She has praised Wessely and Gerada for those very claims many times in the past and took the exact same swipes at us, disparaging us as rowdy and unworthy of being listened to.

So much for patient engagement and listening to patients.

I don't know what exactly was said by Greenhalgh but I have it on very good authority that her comments weren't acceptable (from the patient point of view, no doubt from hers she can't see anything wrong at all).

I've just been looking at the comments on Twitter about Greenhalgh's talk. Her response to someone who criticised her talk was to block him.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to trust Greenhalg. The impression is that she's trying to avoid anything related to ME. The most likely explanation is that her true views would not be welcome by ME patients.
