    Vestibular issues

I know someone who fell off of a ladder and hit her head on the wall on the way down. The crazy thing is she only fell about a foot. She hasn't been able to work since then as she now has a vestibular injury and suffers with bouts of severe vertigo and she can't read anymore as her eyes can no...

Canadian Federal Health Minister to make announcement regarding ME, August 22

I don't know anything about the report from the Ontario Gov't, however, last June the people of Ontario voted in Doug Ford as the new Premier, and since he has been in office, he has been cutting back Provincial funding for education, health, seniors, municipal funding, etc. so I can't see this...

    Dr Byron Hyde - Canada

Maybe he was doing these with some patients, but one of the complaints I have heard about him several times was that he was only offering a diagnosis but not offering anything in the way of treatment.

    Dr Byron Hyde - Canada

I've read several times over the years that Byron Hyde only diagnosed, but did not offer treatment.

    Dr Byron Hyde - Canada

Byron Hyde was not run out of town before he ever set foot in it. He was an established ME/CFS doctor for at least the past 30 years. He made claims that shouldn't have been made considering that there aren't any tests yet for ME/CFS. My view is that he basically ripped people off financially.

Bias in medicine - Sex and Race John Oliver

I'm wondering if this might be available in another week or two. It seems it's just the new content that isn't available, but the older shows can be seen on youTube.

The link doesn't work for me, either.

The Province (Vancouver): Better treatment needed for 77,000 British Columbians with ME

Yes, Dr Alison Bested set up the original clinic back in 2012. There is just the one clinic.

The Province (Vancouver): Better treatment needed for 77,000 British Columbians with ME

This clinic was initially set up by Dr. Alison Bested who specializes in ME. Her vision was for this to become a research center, get involved with teaching the medical students attending the University of British Columbia, and to provide detailed medical appointments and testing for ME...

    Easy sources of protein

Yes they do. I have one in my basement to store any overflow food that doesn't fit in the fridge in the kitchen. In fact, I think that the little fridge is even colder than the big fridge.

    Easy sources of protein

Have you considered buying a small bar fridge that you could keep in your bedroom?

    Episodes of nearly fainting

Could you possibly have POTS? I know someone who for 20 years had problems with high blood pressure, dizziness, and anxiety. It wasn't until last year when she started passing out that she was finally given the diagnosis of POTS and since starting medication, she is feeling so much better. Her...

    Cholesterol

According to my GP, cholesterol is only a concern if you have other risk factors in addition to high cholesterol (ie high blood pressure, high triglycerides, Diabetes, etc).

    Induced coma

I'm just curious as to whether this person lives abroad, or did they have to go abroad to find a doctor and hospital that was willing to do this? I couldn't see any Canadian hospital agreeing to this unless it was a life or death situation.

    Induced coma

Exactly! Both of my sisters had their lives end while in a coma, and they both required around the clock nursing care in the ICU. Sometimes it took two nurses to provide the kind of care they needed. Anyone who thinks that being in a coma requires little care have no idea what they are talking...

    Induced coma

I can't see any responsible doctor, or hospital, agreeing to this. The cost alone would be staggering as you would require 24 hour care seven days per week.
