UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

It seems the whole western political world seems obsessed with getting disabled people to work, but also are unwilling to improve healthcare or research to give us opportunities to do so. If I were able to work I would do so because my life was a thousand percent easier when I was working.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

The responses on the tweet said that some people were not awarded PIP. Some other people said that they were warned that the chances of getting PIP were low, and so they did not apply.

Here are the documents she got from the FOI. Here is the link to the tweet. Maybe that gives more context. Hope this helps.

Tessa Munt’s tweet says: ‘#pwme please help me with a brief anon survey. DWP’s response to my FOI request (ed: she included two documents in the tweet) implied that v few #pwme access PIP DLA and many will lose this with the cuts. To act I’d first like to understand, what’s up, focussing on...

Sweden: termination of the contract for specialist medical care for ME in Stockholm, including the Bragée ME Center, 2023

So the care for ME patients in Sweden has been reduced, if I understand correctly? And upon criticism of the Swedish patient organisation, the Health Authority says that services will be available through primary care? Seems like a huge deterioration of services.

    Coping with heat

Had to google chest freezer, because could not imagine a big-boobed freezer. These are not very efficient. I have a simple fridge freezer with drawers. Also a high efficiency one. So it will probably excude a little bit of warmth but very little. My tv gives off more heat. But as @Kitty said...

    Coping with heat

My freezer does not exude any heat luckily. I would recommend to use cold water in the bottle and to not fully fill them, because ice expands.

Yes make sure that you have old style double glazing! Hr++ glazing can suffer from heatshock and crack. I did see some specials hr++ foils. I did the tin foil on old style double glazing and it really works. I did put it inside, since I can’t put it on the outside.

UK - NIHR Call for research on Virtual Wards, 2025

As long as there is no reliable care path for ME, I would not want to go to hospital, virtual or non-virtual. However I did get IV-therapy at home. And I was really happy to not have to go hospital several times a week. It saves a lot of energy, and the sensory issues in hospitals are horrible.
