The very next video that comes up for me, after the one linked in the above post is this one :

The text for that one is more honest about what doctors think FND actually is (my bold) :
My bold...
Why does CBT have to be prescription-only? It's not as if it is poisonous.
I'm guessing it has to be prescription-only so that the NHS can be charged for it. Gotta make sure those profits go to the shareholders!
Perhaps the title I suggested is the research they should have done i.e. actually study the effect of zinc and melatonin on fatigue itself, rather than the "perception of fatigue".
I know the cause of 90% of my own chronic pain. But my medical records have so many omissions, mistakes, obfuscation and lies that nobody would believe me if I told them.
Just the title of that paper tells me something about the perception the authors have of ME/CFS, and it has the subtlety of being hit by a hammer.
Edit : Added the following...
Existing title : Effect of Melatonin Plus Zinc Supplementation on Fatigue Perception in ME/CFS: A Randomized...
Thanks for the info re : EBV.
I've never knowingly had EBV or Covid-19, and I'm just curious. No doubt my curiosity would be diagnosed as health anxiety, because curiosity is apparently a sin or a mental illness.
Obviously if EBV can wake up it seems likely that others could wake up too.
It...
This thread makes me wonder about a few things.
What is the relationship between Long Covid and EBV? I'm specifically thinking of the statistics, not the biochemistry.
Can people have EBV without knowing?
What percentage of people have had confirmed EBV?
Is EBV always confirmed by testing...
On the subject of nutrition rather than nutrients this article may be of interest.
Title : We learn nothing about nutrition, claim medical students
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-43504125
I'm sure there are a load of medical conditions for which vitamin D and zinc are not helpful, but I'm equally sure there are plenty of conditions for which they are useful. But I wouldn't trust doctors on the subject of nutrients anyway. They don't get any training on the subject and appear to...
There have been lots of reports during the pandemic of how people with good levels of vitamin D and zinc have had less severe Covid and have had had better survival rates. But I'm not aware of this really getting a mention in the mainstream media. Or at least it isn't emphasised in any way.
The problem with the bolded bit in the above sentence is that doctors look at medical records and they assume the records are completely right and so they know the patient's medical history and they think that their investigations will determine the extent of tissue damage. But medical records...
I've lived in my current area for about 35 years. If I haven't found something good in all that time I'm not expecting to find it now. My local hospital, for example, has gaslighted me for decades. I had a truly astonishing appointment there (in a bad way) in 2019 which was the last straw that...
I won't bother then. I was seen by a pain clinic a few years ago and it was a complete waste of time. They were only prepared to suggest treatments that GPs had already tried which had already failed to make a dent.
I want to ask a practical question. Do doctors in the UK (specifically England) treat new cases of chronic pain? Or old cases of chronic pain that are getting substantially worse for no obvious reason? Or do they just give out a mental health diagnosis and refer patients to IAPT, CBT and GET and...
Agreed. The NHS has very deep pockets, along with even longer arms. There is no way they would run out of money to defend themselves in a court of law because they just use taxpayers' money. And all they really have to do is have more money than an individual patient, and that would be pretty...
Sounds to me like the various forms mentioned on this thread are just intended to give the therapists and doctors justification to continue gaslighting the patients. They certainly won't try to actually treat anyone.
Interesting article on how doctors made the decisions they did on how to treat Covid.

I liked the last paragraph in particular :
I have never understood why trials took so long. Based on this article it seems there was no particular reason...
Very, very interesting article on asthma, thank you.
Of particular interest to me, because my husband is asthmatic and struggled for years to get proper treatment. Nobody denied he had asthma (that I'm aware of), they just wouldn't treat him with the standard treatment. He eventually got...
