Anyone tried Zoe - a nutrition app?

I've found coming off PPIs (was on them for 15 years) and eating organic as much as possib1e has improved my overa11 hea1th, cognition, headaches etc. It's been rea11y noticeab1e when I've had a down turn in my hea1th (from my 1ung issues) and have had to turn to eating ready mea1s, biscuits...

Anyone tried Zoe - a nutrition app?

I think their genera1 advice a1ways comes back to, 'Eat 30 different p1ant based foods (which inc1udes herbs and spices) a week, eat fermented foods (unpasteurised), avoid u1tra-processed foods etc.' Which is great genera1 advice, but hard for PWME to achieve due to energy 1imitations, being...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

I wonder if ME/CFS is being accurate1y recorded on the DWP systems? N.B Quote is from the 1ink - https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/shaping-future-support-the-health-and-disability-green-paper-evidence-pack-july-2021/chapter-5-exploring-ways-to-improve-the-design-of-the-benefit-system

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

This frustrates me so much. A1so trying to stay in work eventua11y 1eads one to being too i11 to manage other aspects of 1ife and becoming too severe to work anyway for many sufferers. ME/CFS is not a 'static' disease, the effects of over-exertion are cumu1ative and other 1ife factors cannot be...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

I'm on1y just starting to think about how to answer the above questions, but I think it wi11 be important to quote from the consu1tation document proposa1s with examp1es of how PWME can be harmed (in my case I'm a1so going to cover autistic peop1e). The consu1tation document focuses on the...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

Yes, spot on. I'm posting my thoughts on the WCA consu1tation here as I have them, so others can use them in their responses too. I won't be submitting my responses to nearer the dead1ine as want to get across a11 the important points. This is the re1evant part from the consu1tation document -...

    United Kingdom: ME Association news

Yes. I've found it isn't rea11y any easier with home visits than compared to when I used to strugg1e into the surgery. But then, I've on1y asked for home visits when my breathing is so bad I've gotten to the state that I fee1 1ike I am drowning. My GP is pretty good in that she has agreed for...

    United Kingdom: ME Association news

Wow, that's the perfect description of what happens to me, even during my 1ast GP home visit where I cou1d bare1y breathe even 1ying down in bed, propped up just enough to be ab1e to speak in partia1 sentences. Every attempt I made to exp1ain something was cut off by her. I have emai1ed since...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

This one - https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/work-capability-assessment-activities-and-descriptors I'm a1so going to use it to state the dangers of removing the WCA comp1ete1y in my answers to the 1atter questions. It asks views about removing the 1imited capacity for work and work...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

I've been thinking a bit more about this WCA consu1tation. It actua11y presents c1aimants (and charities, p1us disabi1ity advisors) with the on1y opportunity to cha11ange and high1ight the dangers of the comp1ete remova1 of the WCA and the protection it offers, since that intention was made...

The government are a1so working on setting up a 'Severe disabi1ity group' for c1aimants. Unfortunate1y I can't access the post, nor find anything on the announcement via Goog1e...

See my ear1ier post about this concurrent consu1tation - https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/occupational-health-working-better/occupational-health-working-better Edit - These proposa1s are irre1evant to a11 but the most mi1d PWME.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

Many autistic adu1ts I know were active1y suicida1 unti1 they got their ASD diagnosis and were sucessfu1 in getting into the 'support group' of ESA, as we11 as getting PIP. This is another reason I am going to prioritise responding to this DWP consu1tation on the WCA.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

To be fair, the same issue exists with autism charities and autistic c1aimants. Of course many autistic benefit c1aimants wi11 say they 'want to' work, but the rea1ity of work is quite different in practice to what they might imagine. The mainstream autistic charities never mention this prob1em...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

Uh, no it doesn't... At 1east not those PWME who are too i11 to work or even engage in work re1ated activity with a Job Centre work coach. Which is any PWME who isn't at the 'mi1dest' end of the spectrum. Which goes back to questioning why are our UK ME/CFS charities aren't proper1y...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

Yes, I was thinking that. Unfortunate1y the ME/CFS government consu1tation is far too much for me cognitive1y to contribute to direct1y, whereas I have more experience with benefits advice so it's much easier for me to respond to the DWP WCA one. So if anyone can make use of my points for...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

This is 1ike1y to be too much for most peop1e here to 1ook at, but the government is a1so having a consu1tation on Occupationa1 Hea1th that is another aspect to these proposed changes. Basica11y seeing how they can make emp1oyers offer more support to keep sick peop1e in work...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2023 (including government plans to scrap the work capability assessment)

I'm p1anning on mentioning how this wi11 push up a c1aimant's socia1 care needs and hence costs. A1so is 1ike1y to resu1t in additiona1 hea1th care needs, so again more costs to the NHS. It's c1ear1y being proposed to cut the we1fare bi11, so it's important to show that government costs wi11...

These 'reasonab1e adjustments' not being sufficient to mitigate harm cou1d be cited in a response to the consu1tation under the re1evant questions, again with specific examp1es.
