No idea if it would work but my hands are in bits.
My skin doesn't like soap at the best of times and if I don't do something soon I'm going to have cracks and splits in the skin.
What I'd be like if I was having to apply an alcohol based solution to them them if I had to be out and about I...
I'm not so sure the figures are accurate. There was a clip of the mayor of one Italian region (sorry didn't catch the region) who was saying that the elderly dying at home and at care homes weren't being included in the figures.
Unless we all start working together I think we'll end up with a...
I'm certainly not defending them. I would be interested to hear who was advising the government about managing the different aspects of this. Like schools, for example.
If head teachers weren't involved then who was? Obviously the buck stops with whoever is in power, but just how much of...
No, I understand that @Simbindi. I wasn't trying to compare the two. Just discussing that aspect of employment.
I understand the school buildings being open longer etc will mean far more work. If anything they need to be doubling their cleaning staff and I have no doubt that they are...
IM's employers cancelled leave early last week. They are never allowed to carry leave over from one year to the next, but are now permitting it subject to approval.
Of course cutting back on staff in recent years makes booking holidays very difficult as there has to be a minimum level of cover...
A much younger relative is a schoolteacher in Lima.
Schools are closed. She's still working from her flat but via video link & teleconferencing.
They have soldiers on the streets helping police social distancing measures.

No harm if a couple of us made a complaint.
I think there are some very questionable claims being made there -
The course (free) will boost your immune system and so reduce your chance of catching the virus.
If you catch the virus, doing the course is likely to reduce covid 19 symptoms.
Then, and most dangerous of all in my eyes...
I have actually used the original paper when someone was considering recommending GET for me. I think they felt I had little to lose by trying it but the paper made them think again.
Thank you @Tom Kindlon
I got to about 20 minutes or so in.
The neurologist came across as very earnest and genuine. Having stated clearly they don't know the cause, the focus then narrowed to the psychological and that some people process emotional or psychological trauma that way.
Nothing proven and, of course...
A relatively has a gigantic Tesco near him in the outskirts of London and decided to pop in at about 9.30am to get no more than a basketful of essentials.
He reckoned he spent 5 minutes shopping and then 55 minutes queuing to pay. The queues were 20 people deep.
Out for a walk later he passed...
I'm seriously impressed by some of our little local village shops. They've come together as a group and set up an ordering system using one of their websites, selling most of the essentials without markups on their usual prices and are delivering locally.
One of the group is a deli with a...
I don't think it has. I think that supermarkets and shops have been caught on the hop by a massive surge in demand.
Likewise, people just go for deliveries because it's most convenient to them and don't stop to think that others might be more in need of delivery.
Yes, I've only ever heard good things about her. Sadly, like the good ME consultants we can't clone her.
Even good nurses have to toe the line in the clinics they work for, though. That or go elsewhere.
Until something fundamentally changes, then more of the same just puts more of us in...
