here's a short article in French about the distance the virus travels and on which surfaces it was most found: https://www.lapresse.ca/covid-19/202004/10/01-5268883-la-covid-19-pourrait-voyager-jusqua-4-m-dun-malade-selon-une-etude.php
I'm not sure, but Legault stated that there were many people who had paid for Condos and Houses and they are anxious to move into them. The other reason I just heard on radio, is that construction workers are well paid and their salaries should help their families. I seem to recall he said...
Here in Quebec the word out is that medical specialists have not been paid, as many of their appointments for surgery, etc have been cancelled. As of now, they will be helping in the old age home which have been exploding with cases of Covid.
And on another note, Prime minister of Quebec...
Here's an article from the Huffington Post suggesting that it is not necessary to wash the vegetables before putting them away, and is suggesting that using a little dish soap may be harmful.
My experience is that washing leafy greens, etc in a large tub with a tablespoon of bleach and rinsing...
And a few local doctors here in montreal have recommended taking the flu vaccine, suggesting it might help a bit with how severely the coronavirus hits. A friend just had the flu vaccine, even though flu season is over, as well as a pneumonia shot.
@JemPD Really! How low can folks go? Utterly unacceptable in these trying times! I remember we used to have a milkman. One morning I opened the door, and there was a chap just leaving our place with the cream, and milk and butter. He dropped them on the sidewalk, and just grinned at me, like...
Here in Montreal our postman is not wearing a mask. It's basically a residential area, so it's single family houses, and he often just opens doors and goes in, and leaves packages and mail in vestibules because he knows the folks. He's the loveliest chap you'd ever want to meet. Yesterday, I...
This fits in with the report I mentioned yesterday, where the Italian doctor (who has recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine) stated that it is imperative to keep more Covid patients at home, to provide mobile units, and to place the severe Covid patients in a separate...
Just now at 13 hours EST I heard on CBC Radio that in the Province of Ontario 1 in 10 people affected with Covid work in health care; no further breakdown was offered.
I had the identical experience! Some water infiltrated into my Mother's basement last year (she lives next door) and I bought some masks fearing mould. Turns out they were N 95.
Not medically related but: this reminds me of the old USSR days. I was there briefly and and meeting up with some folks in a huge park. One chap put his forefinger into his mouth to moisten it, then held up his hand to check which way the wind was blowing. Then he said, best we turn this way...
Although, this is likely not the place to post this, I am certain many of us would like to have an update about what the researchers are able to do or not to do in this frightful and perilous period. Dr Davis gave an update. So, that is one so far. If anyone knows what other researchers are...
It is possible to make masks; there is superb thread on this site about mask making. I recently hastily made one with a long scarf, rubber bands and safety pins (neither of which are visible.) Check out the thread.
I have been wearing a mask and glasses since March 13th. One chap in the grocery stored asked me on that day why I was wearing it! The problem here in Quebec is the short supply of masks and other necessities, so I suspect this is why they are focusing only on hand washing and physical...
Thanks Mij, I also like Jem, needed a laugh. Here in Montreal, the numbers are increasingly dramatically daily. And they are still not asking folks to use masks outside. If asymptomatic folks can pass it on, then shouldn't everyone wear a mask?
Burka may become very fashionable soon (:))) Oh Lordy Lord, as they say in the deep American south.
I think that this virus will change many things, and folks may want to live in more rural settings, more suburbs, not in the dense high rises of modern cities. Here in Montreal, there is a...
Just now there was a very short interview (Radio Canada) with an Italian doctor (who has just published in the New England Journal of Medicine)--sorry could not catch his name as he spoke very quickly with a heavy Italian accent-- stating that from what they have learned it is important to try...
Ok thank you. I will tear off more of the outer leaves from now. I also use tomatoes and avocado in the salad, but lather these up. Should I be peeling the skins off the tomatoes: I used to do this years ago.
Of course, Canada Post should get their act together, as they say. When UPS wants duty they mail us a letter. As soon as this incident occurred with the postman, I tore off my clothes, jumped into a shower and lathered up, changed clothes, and did a neti pot--but who knows? I was at my...
