Is low dose naltrexone effective in ME/CFS due to an effect on the vascular system?

My understanding is that naloxone and naltrexone are very similar in their effects.
Also at the time of writing this it hasn't yet been...
My guess is that they envision ME as an attempt to avoid the stigma of mental illness by people who in reality have a mental illness, and that fixing the stigma will lead to the diagnosis ME disappearing as it's no longer needed.
I often have the impression that psychiatrists love evoking the...
I think it's unsafe to assume that PEM is only found in one distinct syndrome that we call ME. We don't know enough about PEM in other illnesses to know that.
Hi. I'm following with interest. I hope it helps you feel less isolated to share with us what's happening. The bit about families with FSHD and fibromyalgia sounds interesting.
Both ME and CFS have baggage attached to them that continues to cause confusion. Going with the name Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease would have been good.
I like the idea of a name that revolves around disrupted recovery from activity.
It highlights the postexertional phase.
Most people...
I remember that at least one, maybe several researchers have said that ME/CFS patient's cardiopulmonary exercise tests look similar to those of overtrained athletes.
Maybe PEM is caused by a defect in the body's ability to rest and recover from exertion. It makes sense that poor resting...
Abstract
The endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is an organelle responsible for the post-translational folding and modification of proteins. Under stress conditions, such as physical exercise, there is accumulation of misfolded proteins. The increased load of proteins in the ER results in ER stress...
Exercise is listed as one of the causes of ER stress. My understanding is that ER stress can lead to the unfolded protein response. If exercise can induce the unfolded protein response in ME/CFS, could that lead to a marked reduction of metabolites in urine as we've seen in Hanson's recent...
Alternatively, girls are affected because the poisoners intend to target girl's schools to achieve their political aims, which may include punishing teenagers for participating in anti-regime protests.
A good argument against LP to make in public is that it tells people they must pretend they are healthy and tell others they are healthy, and that patients can be vulnerable to this sort of thing, and that this is why the promoters of LP do not want to reveal what exactly is involved in LP.
The...
Evidence for a psychogenic cause does not seem to exist but somehow it's acceptable to believe in this cause while dismissing other possible causes because of a lack of reliable evidence.
Disappointing.
Garner's story seems to show how the BPS people are fooling themselves. If they instruct all patients to ignore their symptoms, then this will occasionally appear to work miraculously simply because some patients will be at a point in time where they are recovering, or approaching a remission...
Someone should remind him that the brain is part of the body. There is not one category of illnesses which is distinguished by fluctuating or episodic nature of symptoms. A wide variety of illnesses have fluctuating symptoms.
Psychophysiological seems to be just another word for psychosomatic...
Three researchers from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology became sick enough in November 2019 that they sought hospital care

Throughout the paper, there is a lot of emphasis on fatigue and the impression is that the authors consider ME/CFS as representing an especially marked state of fatigue. I don't think we can trust the paper.
WASHINGTON—The U.S. Energy Department has concluded that the Covid pandemic most likely arose from a laboratory leak, according to a classified intelligence report recently provided to the White House and key members of Congress.
