It might improve with time, as supermarkets start restricting more and more items and prioritising deliveries for the elderly and vulnerable (who are supposedly being 'cocooned'). I'm sure a photo of evidence showing your ESA support group status would be accepted as proof you are in the...
I couldn't get access (via Sci-hub) to the original research article posted in this thread. But I did manage to find a journal article by the psychologists elaborating the methods these researchers used. in reaching their conclusions. Make of it what you will...
But if the methodology is poor, there are lots of assumptions being made that avoid complexity, and the researcher is imposing their own 'constructs' on their research data (difficult not to do when using qualitative methods, including surveys) the results will be meaningless.
Yes, 6 of us and one small bathroom and only the single toilet in an 'open plan' 70's new build house. For a lot of the 70's, 80's and 90's most 3 bedroom houses in the UK were built this way, older council houses used to have an additional downstairs toilet (as mine does). They've started...
I just bought this version (48 extra long rolls for £40), but I purchased it off Ebay (as you get buyer protection). It actually looks like proper toilet paper as well as being ethical and supporting people in need of sanitation:

So, I've moved my online...
I tried to look that up on Google, but couldn't find anything that said it couldn't be used like ordinary toilet paper. I did find some info that stated that the process by which it is manufactured is very different to bamboo textiles and other materials.
My food cupboard seems full of sweet stuff - jam, honey, maple syrup, baking ingredients (for cakes, biscuits, shortbread, fudge and jam tarts), chocolate, flapjack ingredients (the only use for the porridge oats I bought today), dried fruit, nuts...So if the virus doesn't kill me, I may die of...
There's over priced toilet roll on Ebay, but I might opt to try the bamboo stuff (available from UK suppliers on Ebay and internationally on Amazon). It's not British and has strange looking foreign symbols on the box, so obviously no ones buying it!
I have an online Tesco slot booked for this Saturday morning. I was really hoping to find some toilet roll and soap, because I have enough food after today's physical shop. If I could have done this I could have cancelled the online order and generated a slot for someone else. Now I have to keep...
My local Tesco stopped 24 hour opening over a year ago. I don't see how this is going to improve stocks for customers (except the lucky few who arrive just when they've put out the delivery (which could arrive any time of day - my local Tesco has staff stocking shelves throughout the day).
Both of the Co-ops were out of soap, bleach, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls etc., as well as being only half-stocked with food.
The Spar shop was well stocked with food (including rice and pasta), even had some bleach, but was also completely out of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and liquid soap. So...
It took me 3 days to achieve this trip out, I was hoping to go Monday and yesterday, but had to sleep. That's why I didn't put the trip off until tomorrow, despite having the email from Sainsburys.
It was an experiment - I've never, ever been in a supermarket at that time of day! I usually go in the evenings when it's quiet, and then only once a month. I get my prescriptions done there, as I can't get them posted via an online service as they are packed into the weekly dosette cartridges...
I drove to the Sainsbury's in Taunton, early this morning. The only way I can be fit to drive is not to go to sleep at night (as I'm at my worst for the first several hours after waking up). So I slept during the day yesterday, then kept myself up all night, just to try to get some of the...
I guess that without testing symptomatic people or contacts, many will underestimate how many infected people there are in the community and how high the risks of transmission is. Additionally, many people won't know if they have had coronavirus or just a bad cold or regular flu. So if they...
I'm not sure quite how to take it - it struck me as an unusual way to describe a doctor. It certainly makes her out to be more than an average GP, especially as the sentence was using the battle term 'beat' to describe her experience with the coronavirus, as if she is some kind of hero with a...
On the issue of evidence, I've read multiple posts on how much giving up their careers has devastated both men and women - I've not been struck by any gender difference in this regard. I can't remember reading any posts by women with M.E. who have said that giving up their career was easy, or...
Because there is a vast difference between an initial (superficial) attraction and the deep sustainable attraction that is needed for a successful relationship between two adults living in modern society. If a man is basing his 'masculine identity' on the former, I would say he is being very...
