Is it useful to compare CBT in SLE and ME/CFS?

Similar patterns have likely been found for ME/CFS in Norway: https://www.s4me.info/threads/socioeconomic-determinants-of-me-cfs-in-norway-a-registry-study-hilland-and-anthun-2023.33011/

Characterization, Treatment, and Long-term Follow-up of Fatigued Patients in Primary Care (iFAS), Lindsäter et al

Maybe a bit of both. My parents don’t fully understand either, even though they have to care for me because I’m bedbound as a result of covid. It’s difficult to question your reality, but it’s also convenient for politicians to just not do it properly.

Characterization, Treatment, and Long-term Follow-up of Fatigued Patients in Primary Care (iFAS), Lindsäter et al

@Peter Trewhitt @MittEremltage That’s the level of the Norwegian discussion as well. Some politicians have been talking about LC, but they don’t seem to understand the gravity of the situation.

Characterization, Treatment, and Long-term Follow-up of Fatigued Patients in Primary Care (iFAS), Lindsäter et al

I don’t expect you to be able to follow everything, you’re already on top of so much! We have a huge debate in Norway regarding the increase in sick leave, and fortunately some researchers and doctors have been trying to explain that you have to consider covid as a massive contributor. It’s a...

I hope the Covid Association is trying to tell them that the increase probably is an increase in LC?

    News from Scandinavia

Average time to diagnosis to Norway was somost 8 years in one pre-covid survey from the Norwegian ME/CFS. Many report an instant onset from e.g. an infection, so it seems like this is less likely (although it can’t be excluded).

If thoughts can affect any part of the body in any way, then I should be able to make myself turn green without any external interventions. If you tell me that’s impossible, I challenge you to define what is possible and not. You should quickly come to the realisation that there are physical...

Anaesthesia in Patients Suffering from Postviral Syndromes, 2025, Weber

An example of real harm and a potentially fatal situation caused by ignorance and gaslighting. Edit: by harm I mean her not seeking care sooner and being misdiagnosed with depression. Ms. R, 31 years old, developed ME/CFS after a moderate bout of COVID-19 in 2023. The symptoms of COVID-19...

The Current and Future Burden of Long COVID in the United States, 2025, Bartsch

That still can’t explain how the upper bound per person is 11k. 11k is 1/6 of the average yearly wage. Unless tended means that they’ve just shown some kind of median value and the actual spread is a lot wider. If that’s the case, it’s very misleading. Nobody will read the abstract and suspect...

The average US salary is $66,000, so $10,000 would account for 2 months of lost productivity due to the absence from work. I don’t have access to the paper, but I’m almost suspecting that they might have used taxes instead or income? The average tax rate is 14.5 %. Of 66k, that’s about $10,000...
