My MP is useless on all issues - she's one of those who won't speak out or take a position on any point of controversy. I don't currently have the energy to engage with the charity over this. They've built the system so are unlikely to change it - I've previously been involved with my Local...
I've just listened to the daily Coronavirus briefing. I'm not sure who was speaking at the time, but the problem of vulnerable and disabled people being excluded from the 'severely clinically vulnerable' group and hence not being prioritised by supermarkets for online shopping, was briefly...
I'm not sure I'd be covered by that as I only paid for one month's subscription at a time (e.g. not a 3, 6 or 12 month plan, although it was previously automatically renewed.

My daughter just told me that NHS workers had written to the government stating they shouldn't even be thinking of reopening schools until there are low case numbers, contact tracing etc. The full letter is printed at the end of this TES article...
I had an active monthly 'anytime' delivery pass with Tesco for £8, but they have cancelled all their delivery passes for existing customers, even those now considered 'priority'. I can't use the late night deliveries due to not having outside lighting in my rural front garden (and no street...
Tesco are charging £2 for their priority slots. Sainsburys seem to charge a variable amount depending on which slot you choose. Using Tesco for non-priority delivery has now become very expensive, most of their available fixed time slots were £6-7 when I last looked (that was for 4 weeks' time).
I think it should be easier for disabled people to use the Equalities Act (2010) to get these 'reasonable adjustments' when things go back to 'normal' - because they will now be able to cite concrete examples of how these things can be done!
Maybe it's worth giving them this feedback:

I suppose it can be difficult to meet people's specific needs. For example, I am highly intolerant to soya-based proteins which are...
I don't think they're intended to be a complete week's worth of food, just a selection of the food items they have in store. I like the way they are offering fruit and veg as separate boxes, as many of the companies that supply these via weekly subscriptions are limiting their services to...

Marks and Spencers are also offering food boxes for delivery, which may be a way to get fresh fruit or other specific goods:

It's interesting you say that about the fats with sugar. I find a piece of my homemade shortbread or a few pieces of my homemade fudge with a cup of tea work really well to give me a cognitive and physical energy boost. Both have relatively high butter (or butter and milk fat) to carbohydrate...
Also, there are 3 levels of DSB checks, basic, standard and enhanced. They haven't specified which they are p
planning to do for their 'community plus' volunteers.

It's such a simple thing to do, there is no reason this can't be done for all community volunteers...
I note that the referral guide now has the following added to it (which has only been done in the last few days):
They say that a 'small cohort of patients' may require a DBS checked volunteer, but I would say that the majority, if not all, would require this!
The 'community volunteers' are only identity checked, not criminal background checked.

As you can see if you check the 'referrer' box, vulnerable people can be referred to the NHS...
I love Dove's Farm organic flour. I just checked their website and they are offering a box of different flour types to buy direct from their website. However, it says they are only available for a limited time each weekday, so I guess it will be luck if you can get one...
I'd only reserve one a week, so not hogging! Asda was offering priority customers to reserve the same slot each week upfront on a long term basis. But Asda are my least favourite supermarket.
With Tesco, it is worth booking a slot when you see them available, then cancel or change it if not wanted nearer the time. They don't actually take the money until the night before the delivery is due, although they do check your card is valid each time you book or amend an order.
There are...
