Question - regarding commenting on the draft in the designated threads - I do not have the energy to write my feedback in a well-written way - is it okay to just note my thoughts and then the people writing the s4me response to the consultation will consider my thoughts when writing the response?
Does that really leave enough time for people to submit responses to the consultation? Considering that a lot or the people wanting to submit responses suffer from ME...
PS I hugely enjoyed the comment in Jonathan Edwards' testimony about how every doctor should have learned in medical school that there are problems with unblinded trials with subjective outcomes. Savage.
My main worries are:
(a) BPS people trying to get it changed by arguing that GET is "evidence-based".
(b) the BPS people will try to take control of the narrative by claiming that NICE has bowed to pressure from patients, rather than listening to the science. Unfortunately, a sizeable amount...

This is much better than I expected. I'm really surprised, considering that there are so many BPS people on the committee. Massive well done to all the non-BPS people on the committee!
Yeah I read more and apparently it's because, out of the 94 people who developed covid, 90% of them had received the placebo instead of the vaccine. I don't understand how that means that the vaccine is "90% effective".
I guess we also don't know how many of the 43000 people were exposed to covid?
Which, incidentally, is something that students with certain disabilities have been asking for for years (at least at my old uni), and being told it couldn't be done :emoji_upside_down:

Maybe it's because it's cheaper for the NHS... or maybe it's more sinister. A focus on psychological aspects of mental health problems, like "you need to change the way you think", directs attention away from social/political problems that may be causing people depression and anxiety.
