So much nonsense there on the various pages, much of it very patronising nonsense. There's too much to even quote or begin to refute. It's way beyond tweaking. Vincent Deary seems to have been responsible for a lot of the pages.
It's interesting to read it, the information for heath...
That story about Martha Hancock seems to be resulting in a lot of media attention, even now, a number of months later. I wonder if it will have the effect of bringing useful attention to the reaction of spouses when someone gets Long Covid/ ME/CFS.
The cynicism is warranted, but I don't think people with ME/CFS as a whole are 'hated' by the BPS proponents. I think most of them genuinely believe that we could be fixed, or at least greatly improved, if we just got on and followed their advice and abandoned our faulty perceptions of life...
Posts about the Myhill sponsored petition calling for the immediate withdrawal of the old 2007 NICE ME/CFS guidelines have been copied to a new thread for that separate petition: Petition 2021: Myhill: Withdraw the 2007 NICE ME/CFS Guideline Now
Yes - although 3AUC, not 3cmax.
And, if you were going to look at the impact of dosage on the semi-objective measure of steps you might come to a different conclusion.
Edit: i.e. that a lower dose is not better than a higher dose.
Have a look at the chart below. The quadrant where we would...

FWIW, here's the change in mean daily steps from 4 weeks before and the 4 weeks after the treatment. x axis is the AUC (i.e. a measure of the dose); y axis is the change in steps. A positive change is good - that's an increase in the mean number of steps. (There isn't step data for one...
There's the Cmax, the maximum concentration of the drug, averaged over the two treatments. And there's the AUC, the total amount under the curve.
Here's the chart of the change in the total symptom score (TDSS) against Cmax. Negative changes in the TDSS are good, as that means less symptom...
That was a masterstroke for publicity, Cortene getting Cort Johnson on the board.
I am not sure that results were dose-dependent. As I mentioned, I found it hard to work out exactly what dose each participant received. I came up with some numbers, There's the Cmax and AUC, but when I graphed...
I've been thinking today that as the Long Covid problem grows, and sufferers can no longer be tidily swept under the psychogenic mat, it might actually be the health insurance companies who call the loudest for solutions.
Sure, the idea of GAS is ok - define what you are trying to achieve beforehand, and the measure of success. So, the expected outcome is that Mr Smith can work without a frame from his bedroom to his bathroom. A +2 result might be that he's back playing tennis, and a -2 result might be that he...

I found it quite difficult to know how much of the drug each participant was given.
Regarding the number of steps recorded by a Fitbit:
Of the 14 people in the trial, 13 people had data on the change in the number of steps (as a mean of the number of steps per day for the 28 day period prior...
So, objective outcomes were planned, but, sadly, somehow they weren't possible. As @dreampop reminds us, this is a trial of Cortene. There is a substantial commercial interest in showing this drug is a successful treatment. Without picking through the biological justification (which may be...
