That study used the so-called "empiric" criteria (Reeves et al, 2005), which give a prevalence of 2.54%, a lot of whom probably don't have proper ME/CFS
The summary could give the impression that the patients had been asked what they wanted from professionals. However my guess is few if any of the papers actually asked that; most were probably general qualitative research studies. Asking patients specifically what they wanted might have yielded...
There have been some studies which show boom and bust isn't a good way to describe the activity patterns of people with ME/CFS as the variations were no different to the controls.
