Paul’s a privately funded ideologue, presumably?

Well, it depends who he has around him. We wouldn’t know. Presumably he’s enjoying his retirement.

It’s just being refined each time. A muddle of “how I feel” is replacing the “what happened to me”.

With thanks to The Times and Sean O’Neill, that this is even getting reported.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

I think we know (Tory or Lab) government doesn’t want to pay the welfare bill. LCWRA or UC Health as it’s rebranded is a sitting duck. All they see is the cash lump sum. And the Billion pounds investment into “helping back to work” is entirely being spent on creating “back into work advisor”...

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

For someone who was beaten up he certainly was out and about and on holiday in the Caribbean. Also - look at me! I was in the Manchester Evening News back in March! Here’s a photo of the headline. It’s not a link to the article! I don’t even live in Manchester?!?!?

They could put their money where their mouth is and give us jobs, except they shut down Remploy.

They don’t care. People who have this level of intellect are capable of understanding these quite simple concepts like “uncertainty and damaging rhetoric upsets disabled people” or “PIP isn’t means tested”.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Ive just appealed the tribunal, and been granted a rehearing. Allegedly they believed I was claiming I couldn’t stand (I wasn’t) then found me to be somewhat disingenuous and that seems to have affected everything else (my reading between the lines). In any case, the judge was critical of the...

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

It’s a relief from thinking I would certainly lose 2/3 of my income next year, and seeing those changes voted through next week. As I said after, make no mistake we still have to fight.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

Whilst I waited a year for my WCA they put me on the general “help you to get into work” scheme. The advisor was lovely and totally understood I couldn’t do anything. She eventually told me she had a big set-to with her manager about me being on her caseload, because it was clear she couldn’t do...

Massive climb down apparently agreed with rebels. Current claimants will keep all their benefits, changes will be for new claimants https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cq6my6v81z4o

No, it’s a good point. How about they stop messing about with points, and accept they want disabled people to suffer.

UK: Disability benefits (UC, ESA and PIP) - news and updates 2024 and 2025

I saw a clip on social media of Martin Lewis questioning an older MP about the proposal (the guy called benefits “social security” not heard that for years) Martin asked the key question “why are you saying PIP stops people working, it’s not an out-of-work benefit?” He got a rambling answer, but...
