No, it is comparing GWAS summary stats from two different conditions. For example, the DecodeME summary stats give us an idea of how much each variant is associated with ME/CFS on a population level. They obtained summary stats for migraine and several other conditions as well, and compared each...
Genetic correlations are basically showing how similar the genetic influences are for two traits. If completely different variants were associated with ME/CFS compared to migraine, then the genetic correlation would be 0. If the exact same variants were associated in the same direction with...
Comparing ME/CFS following mononucleosis with Long COVID
Jason, Leonard A; Furst, Jacob; Katz, Ben Z
Objectives
Long COVID following SARS-CoV-2 and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) following infectious mononucleosis (IM) are examples of post-infectious chronic...
How Revolving Door Officials Shaped, Cross Validated and Closed the Official Khamisiyah Chemical Exposure Determination Despite the Evidence, 1995-2002
Ford, Jeffrey S
Abstract
The official Khamisiyah chemical exposure determination was presented as a scientific conclusion reached through...
I guess I don't see why not. Maybe I'm not understanding something about the methods.
There will probably be a portion of migraine sufferers, or asthma sufferers, who have type 2 diabetes or any of dozens of other conditions, just due to some people having more than one condition due to random...
From the sensitivty analysis paragraph:
Is this saying an ME/CFS group was created which excluded only those 7 conditions, and compared that group to C2? So could the ME/CFS group still have included individuals with type 2 diabetes or other conditions?
I guess the concern could be put simply...
I recently was interested in migraine because I found a large correlation using Google Trends scores, showing that [edit: US] states that search more for "chronic fatigue syndrome" tend to also search more for "migraine" and "migraine aura".
I previously also did genetic correlations using...
I'm wondering about the specific points Hutan raised that don't seem to have been addressed yet. Is this study concluding that lipids are a problem in ME/CFS based on comparing an ME/CFS group that could potentially include individuals with multiple comorbidities to groups where individuals...
Insights into Pathophysiological Pathways in ME/CFS Through Genetic Correlation and Mendelian Randomization
Abstract
Myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and post-acute infection syndromes (PAIS) are multisystem disorders involving immune, vascular, neuroinflammatory...

Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test Results Do Not Change Over Two Sequential Days in Patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Background
Two consecutive cardiopulmonary exercise tests (CPETs) performed 24 hours apart is increasingly used to determine post-exertional malaise (PEM) and disability in...
Yeah, they put the statistics about Hispanic characteristics in other tables. B03001 has the number of Hispanic people in each state, as well as specific countries of origin. I hadn't realized that other table was there, so thanks for bringing this up.
Just looking at these maps of median housing age in US states or counties, it doesn't seem to match up well with the map of ME/CFS searches:
ME/CFS search interest:
Is there a better variable for the old house hypothesis?
And please keep the ideas coming, whether or not they're fully baked.
