CBT for ME that is accepted by the community.

I’m possibly falling into the trap of thinking what works for me would work for everyone else but I genuinely think person centred counselling is worthwhile people with ME trying if they have the possibility.

Improving teaching about medically unexplained symptoms for newly qualified doctors in the UK - Yon et al 2017

Yes @Peter Trewhitt as soon as I saw the title I thought best improvement would be stop the training, get rid of it altogether.

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

If you change the order date on Ocado double check their system hasn’t created a duplicate order - just saying :wtf:

    Sudden appetite

Mod note: For technical reasons, the initial post in this thread had to be deleted. The post was from FicaR94: Does it happen to you that you feel full and than suddenly very hungry, without gradual increase? It often happens to me, what would be the explanation for that? ************ Reply...

Have you shared this with any of the long Covid advocates maybe they will post on their groups?

Yep no charge. Saw somewhere that finally one of the big supermarkets is looking at (suitably strong) paper bags.

Recruiting Adolescents With [CFS/ME] to Internet-Delivered Therapy: Internal Pilot Within a Randomized Controlled Trial, 2020, Knoop, Crawley et al

Interesting idea MEM it could be a simple table showing the title of the study, the names of researchers, the start & finish dates, reported funding amounts and name of funding body, any papers published

Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Ok good if it’s less deadly but what if it leaves more with chronic symptoms- obviously this will not be known for some time

CBT for ME that is accepted by the community.

If the manual you have to work to is idiotic it is an invidious situation it doesn’t necessarily mean the individual member of staff is an idiot. they may not know any better because that is how they have been trained and it is all they know. They may realise it is a pile of tripe but they are...

CBT for ME that is accepted by the community.

I don’t think the IAPT staff are idiots they just aren’t professional counsellors psychologists. Or if they are they are over qualified for the actual job they are doing limited to working through the manual in a mechanistic way which must be soul destroying and probably explains the bad staff...

CBT for ME that is accepted by the community.

The IAPT CBT I had was much more like training sessions I’ve had at work where it was about getting basic messages about say health and safety or discrimination or data security where everyone in the organisation had to have the same sessions. Eventually they put these on the Intranet as...

UK - Resources for help getting food during quarantine and other supermarket related problems

Of interest possibly I had Ocado booked for Thursday. Was in today refining my order as I try to book orders far ahead on approximate needs then tidy it up a couple of days beforehand when I have a better idea what I actually need. I was offered alternative delivery slot tomorrow pm for no...

CBT for ME that is accepted by the community.

I think these days there’s too much focus on CBT. I had generic low intensity IAPT CBT which I’ve said many times for me was a sausage machine experience. I have counselling I pay for from a counsellor who does person centred counselling which is a completely different experience. If only...

I’ve mentioned before Waitrose is free delivery minimum order £60. They do have basics range as well so not all their stuff is “posh” food. Their tins & own brand detergents etc don’t seem too different to prices I pay at Sainsbury’s.

Iceland do free delivery on orders over £35. I’m not a customer so can’t comment on the service but thought that might be useful info.

Validation of the Severity of ME/CFS by Other Measures than History: Activity Bracelet, CPET, SF-36. van Campen et al, 2020

On my worst days I can be down to 6/700 steps in a day. On better days 2-2.5k More than that would be on highly exceptional days such as when travelling. I’ve got online food shopping and am able to drive myself if needed so I am not forced to walk for basic needs other than round my house...
