Just spotted this article, published in March - https://www.researchgate.net/publication/350541876_Insights_into_Metabolite_Diagnostic_Biomarkers_for_Myalgic_EncephalomyelitisChronic_Fatigue_Syndrome
Section 3 discusses human markers that match the markers I also discuss.
I see your point - thank you - however my understanding, unless I’m mistaken, is that a preprint written with the intent of being peer-reviewed and published is still a “paper that hasn’t been peer-reviewed”?
I’m open to correction and learning nomenclature.
Yes, for the first paper, it was bounced by two journals for reasons such as “insufficient space for other articles”.
If you have any suggestions on a suitable journal, I would enjoy having these peer reviewed. Thanks!
I think that's called "well if an editor and 3 peers liked it, it must be correct" fallacy.
The main issue with my previous work has been the length of the papers. First one was 43 pages. This one is 39. It's too large for most journals, so the format doesn't work.
I wrote this one for a...
Each step in the HASD model can be tested and demonstrated reliably.
The BCAA use is explained by aggressive transamination via glutaminolysis. It’s required to manage the vast amounts of aKG being generated by mitochondrial activity.
My second paper explains it in more detail. It also shows...
Here’s the follow up paper -

Well.. I’m more interested in the evidence in front of me than someone else’s evidence on this.
I’m not sure what someone else has looked at - eg.
Did they do a 24h urine sample?
Did they perform multiple saliva checks throughout the day and relate that to the total urine amounts?
Did they...
That's not what I've seen at all. Seems to be a regular pattern.
Cortisol is also a key part of the immune response. Dysregulated mast cell activation and all of the fun that comes along with that, along with the collagen production issues and skin / gut barrier issues will also influence...
On a "spot check" at some point through the day, they appear to be in normal range? That wouldn't be unexpected at all. Checking at specific times, relative to sleep cycles, etc., would show differences. Also need to factor in the common use of benzodiazapines vs effect on cortisol, for ME.
Serum, urine and saliva. My favourite is the 24h urine cortisol test to show total cortisol, with saliva tests throughout the day to understand the spike patterns. You then need to relate this to the sleep cycle hours, which are usually abnormal.
The expectation is that the issue is first...
That’s very interesting! Arresting lytic phase helps with some of the daily annoyances.
So far no issues at 25mg or 2x25mg/day dosing, over 5+ months. The studies have 30% of males showing symptoms from anti-androgenic behaviour at 100mg, single dose per day. This is even less of an issue with...
Indeed. In fact, I continue to talk with those people and many more. My day is basically talking with people who have ME and helping / listening / understanding.
Cheers,
I’m quite surprised to hear this..
All the the recent generations are waterproof and we’ve previously tested them to within 5% error margin over a month with DEXA scans, combined with food logging. I was surprised, as the DEXA machine has a tolerance of about 4%.
Was there a...
Hi Trish,
The paper was submitted for peer review on the same day as the preprint.
It was apparently too long for that publication, so has been resubmitted.
I’ve considered your other points and decided to respectfully disagree, but appreciate you taking the time to make them.
The...
