So a "substance produced by the microbiome" can disturb a cells energy metabolism? Does anyone know about this, e.g. people researching M.E., or BPS people? Coz I've never heard about it.
Since I've joined S4ME and picked up snippets of human biology, I get the distinct impression the human body is a phenomenal, never ending war zone at the microscopic scale, and that we have evolved to be incredibly successful at winning most of the battles ... else we would not be around.

staph aureus isn't an intestinal bacteria ..it’s mainly found on the skin and mucous membranes ...I think it dies quite quickly in the gut. You can get food poisoning from it, but it’s mainly from the toxin it produces growing on the food. It’s main infectious route is skin (e.g. spots).
