Dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system in ME/CFS and post-COVID syndrome: insights from 48-h heart rate variability monitoring
    DOI:https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jns.2023.121241

Background: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Post-COVID Syndrome are post-viral syndromes that share similar symptoms and pathophysiological mechanisms. Dysregulation of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) have been found in both conditions. This study aimed to investigate possible ANS dysregulation and heart rate variability (HRV) in ME/CFS and Post-COVID Syndrome through continuous (48-h) monitoring.
