I have no idea about the validity of any of the tests listed in this article and am only posting for information.

The article as a whole is entitled "Functional Medicine Approach to Treatment of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Symptoms".

    Part way down is
    "
What Functional Medicine Labs Can Test for Root Cause of Chronic Fatigue?
Functional medicine labs can help practitioners discover some of the underlying contributors to CFS. Below are some of the most helpful labs run by practitioners".

This is a joke. Only two mentions of PEM, no mention of pacing. Claims fatigue is the hallmark symptoms. Make it sound like lifestyle modifications will do something.

Massive over testing and overtreatment, basically making it up as you go along provided by chiropractors and naturopaths.

It's easy, functional medicine is the same as functional illness.

There is nothing there except that it functions as if there was. Or, to be honest, it is a false belief in being medicine.

I've done some less fancy versions of some of these tests starting in the early 1990s. Damn near broke the bank.

You realize that this article is a sales pitch aimed at both desperate patients and greedy physicians who are tapping into the wallet of said desperate patients, right?

it is all about make-believe that their point of view is superior than, and that they have the solutions. And patients must bring their credit card when they visit (which is not normal in the context of our socialized health care system)
