I wonder if it might be an idea with a thread for different (non-BPS) treatments that are being tried out for Long Covid?

The Danish Public Broadcaster has today an article about an ongoing study on Q10 with 120 participants.

    Quote:

In our cells we have a power plant that doctors and biologists call the mitochondria. The power plant produces energy from nutrients and oxygen. The enzyme Q10 is indispensable in that process.

The doctors' theory is that the mitochondria have suffered from the covid-19 infection. Therefore, a number of patients must now try to take Q10 to see if they get better.

    - Q10 is an auxiliary enzyme, a substance that is indispensable in the process of generating energy for the body. So we believe that if you give Q10 in the right doses, you will get an improvement in energy turnover in the cells, says Kristoffer Skaalum Hansen.

Here's a presentation of it from WebMD: Coenzyme Q10

    Quote WebMD:
Coenzyme Q10 is an important vitamin-like substance required for the proper function of many organs and chemical reactions in the body. It helps provide energy to cells. Coenzyme Q10 also seems to have antioxidant activity. People with certain diseases, such as heart failure, high blood pressure, gum disease, Parkinson disease, blood infections, certain diseases of the muscles, and HIV infection, might have lower levels of coenzyme Q10.

There's also a thread about Coenzyme Q10 here on the forum: https://www.s4me.info/threads/coq10-coenzyme-q10.13640/

The Norwegian Health Trust Helse Møre og Romsdal had an article yesterday about an offer that's starting up for patients with lingering symptoms post Covid-19. This is the first time I've seen pacing mentioned in Norway as an approach for this patient group. It's even a psychologist recommending it!

    Quote:
The specialists at the section have already received a number of patients with late sequelae of Covid-19. Psychologist specialist Johan Pettersen and the team have therefore gained some experience.
    - The patients we have are often bothered with concentration difficulties such as staying focused over time, remembering things in daily life, and they often have difficulty remembering new information. And not least, they get tired and exhausted much faster than they are used to. The battery simply flattens faster, says Johan Pettersen.

Pettersen explains that what seems to help the best is to adjust the activity level in every day life. Patients often have to lower the activity level compared to what they are used to in order not to overload, stress or drain themselves completely.
