ME Research UK: Funding available for research and PhD studentships

We are happy to consider projects in all areas related to the biology or treatment of ME/CFS, but we are especially keen to receive applications in the following areas:

Muscle fatigue – underlying mechanisms and potential therapies

Brain and nervous system – structural and functional changes

Immune system – autoimmunity and the role of specific autoantibodies

Metabolomics and the search for diagnostic biomarkers

The symptomatic impact of ME on other organ systems

We recognise how important it is to invest in the ME/CFS researchers of the future by attracting new scientists into the field. Our PhD studentships have been established to help provide an early-career pathway for students interested in the illness, and to allow institutions to expand their areas of research.

ME Research UK’s PhD studentships are open to institutions in the UK and worldwide. The charity will contribute the cost of a stipend, running expenses and university fees, and funding is for three years.
