"Fane Mensah is a scientist specialising in infection and immunity at the University College London. Fane recently came to Australia to work alongside Chris Armstrong at Bio 21, Melbourne University. Fane and Chris Armstrong received a research grant by an US organisation, Solve ME/CFS Initiative, to work on a cross-disciplinary project combining the field of immunology (B-cells) and metabolism: Immuno-metabolism."

Sasha Nimmo is doing a really great job on advocacy and keeping people informed.

Fane and Chris and their teams give me hope. Good on Solve ME/CFS for supporting them, a really wise use of funds. Not only does it progress research, but it helps make the field look exciting to other young researchers.

I think it's also important that young, charismatic people are getting involved in this arena. That's how Wessely and co. started out. Maybe it'll lead to a shift in thinking, as new voices move to the fore.

I hope Fane stays in ME research once his PhD is finished, but that will depend largely on availability of jobs and funding, I guess.
