Has anyone in the UK been prescribed sodium cromoglicate for MCAS? Please can you tell me exactly what you were prescribed and whether it was private or NHS prescription? Thank you. Please feel free to send a private message if preferred.

Moderators - please move this if I've posted it in the wrong place. Thanks.

    Hi @Robert 1973,

My NHS GP prescribed me sodium cromoglicate on the written advice of a MCAS/Masto specialising Dermatologist that I saw privately.

I understand from other MCAS groups that this can be variable depending on your GP & the local NHS rules.

    Cheers,
    Ryan

Is sodium cromoglicate still available in UK? It is suddenly gone (only eye drops left) in several European Countries... No doc or pharmacy are able to tell me why. @Ryan31337 @Robert 1973

Yes it is. I use various forms and have had no problems recently.
Though at times in the past the pharmacist has had to shop around to source it.

Did you ever take this Robert? I’ve just seen a new doctor who thinks I may have histamine issues. I’ve been taking Nalcrom for 10 days with no effect, good or bad. (But it seems you may have to take it for longer to see if it’s doing anything.)

My prescription was a private one.

Has anyone else tried this, or tried a low histamine diet?
