Translated into layman’s terms, that simply means TMI (too much information). I much prefer brainiacs use words and phrases we all can understand. “Think of your audience”, when speaking (was the old way of thinking). Recommending this be updated to “think of your larger audience that will watch this later on YouTube”.

In fairness, I don't think we're the target audience for all this stuff - other scientists whom they want to interest are. I'm happy to the Stanford Genome people talk over my head if it's going to pull in more scientists!

In fairness, I don't think we're the target audience for all this stuff - other scientists whom they want to interest are. I'm happy to the Stanford Genome people talk over my head if it's going to pull in more scientists!

Makes perfect sense. I get that it’s an inside scientist joke; hopefully I have not lost my sense of humour.

I was more in general making a suggestion (which I poorly communicated). Perhaps we could sometimes use a “translator”, to communicate things in simpler terms for PwME with brain fog, or lack a scientific background.
