After a poor experience at one of the UK's main Long Covid clinics, I was wondering what value they offer. Are there people who feel these clinics have really helped them? I was left with this feeling of being in an illusion of a clinic -- everything was represented but nothing was real, in the sense that there was nothing of concrete help. (and I've never used the poll option so I thought I would try it here!)
I haven’t been to one because I heard that they were in most areas of the country terrible. I think there might be two or three that were good, if I remember it right, but only because they refer to actual medical specialties, which most don’t since it seems they were set up to divert patients away from healthcare rather than towards it.
I can't answer the question because I don't even now anyone with direct experience, but I must admit performative healthcare was largely what I expected when they announced treatment clinics for something without a treatment. I'm sure that's unduly cynical in some cases, but...
