UK: Carers now included in Group 6 for Vaccine

    I’m not really posting for discussion but more for information as I don’t think people know about it. We certainly didn’t.

    My daughter just found out that unpaid carers are now in Group 6 for the Covid 19 vaccination.

    Only your GP won’t know you’re a carer unless you notify them.

    My daughter emailed our GP practice to say she gets Carers Allowance and request they put her in Group 6 which they did the same day.

    The guidance on Gov.UK now says:

    At the same time as the adults under 65 years with long term conditions the vaccine will also be offered to:

    • adults who provide regular care for an elderly or disabled person’
    Seems sensible!
