They have searched for them and found them in many conditions, including diabetes if my memory serves me right. Dr. Pretorius's research page highlights some of this. Thus, I'm pretty sure the clots are just a downstream effect, not a cause. It heavily discredits the psychosomatic theory but not...
It's a small study, but useful because it's novel. There's not a lot of data on how long Covid evolves over time from an objective, rather than a symptom-based angle.
That's a little strawmanny. Nobody really believes there's a cartesian split between mind/body illness, or that "mental processing of symptoms and emotional and psychological reaction to the illness and the limitations it confers" doesn't exist. We don't deny the mind-body connection. We believe...
Are there any data on what percentage of people labeled as having MUS eventually get a medical diagnosis?
I imagine my own journey with ME. For almost 4 years, I had no medical explanation for my symptoms. Them BAM! ME diagnosis.
I'm aware that we're far more likely to get someone who neglects ME, but one can hope. Also, yes, the UK is dealing with a lot, so I agree that ME isn't likely to come up for a while.
So, the patients here showed significant improvement, including in objective outcomes like school attendance. However, there was no control group, and we know that pediatric ME is more likely to improve than adult-onset ME. Also, their description of the treatment is incredibly vague. It's...
Really sad. She's not the first hockey player to be sidelined by long Covid either. Brandon Sutter hasn't played since the 2020-21 NHL season. Then there was Dr. Mark Vink, a major ME advocate.
Liz Truss has resigned as Prime Minister. While speculating about the next PM is way beyond the scope of this forum, I'm wondering, does this mean the UK is likely to get a new health minister?
How about I transcribe this for those lack the time or health to watch:
Dr. Mason-Whitfield: I really want to apologize to you too, on behalf of some of my medical colleagues because as senior clinicians. We are being laughed at by some of our colleagues in clinic, but we're quite stroppy...
In this preprint, Dr. Pretorius and her colleagues found yet more signs of excessive clotting in people with Long Covid. In the past, the found the microclots. Now they're showing increases in molecules associated with clotting as well. These findings are encouraging, as it shows something's...

Here's a summary of Dr. Younger's video:
He's talking about decentralized clinical trials. A decentralized clinical trial is one you can participate in from home. You see the doctor via telehealth, receive study drugs in the mail, and do any necessary bloodwork at a local lab.
This allows...
Hey, its better than the Kidney dysbiosis guy at least. :) (Dr. Igor Markov, who claims ME is caused by kidney dysbiosis and that autovaccines can cure 93% of patients)

Yes, there's an enormous gulf between the research and care we deserve and what we want. So having different views for ME and illness in general is justified. The paper is about chronic conditions in general, so I've mostly discussed things in that context here.
