Ron Davis research update April 2018

There is a theory that people with ME are suffering the reaction to an infection long after the infection is gone. The few viruses would tie-in with this.

    Fluoroquinolones (including ciprofloxacin)

I didn’t know fluoroquinolones caused psychiatric and sensory disturbances along with the physical problems. :arghh: Why on earth are they still allowed to sell them.

Leonard Jason wants ME/CFS patients to do a PEM survey

It's past my bedtime, so I will leave this for another day. I would think that the only way you would know that you COULD be sensitized is if you HAD been sensitized. So I would say the essential question is if you HAVE been sensitized. Odd way to state it, though. Just add to the confusion -...

I'm glad that someone is viewing energy broadly. I hope that it leads to a better understanding of ME/CFS.

NPR: 2018 April 5. Ineffective treatment often prescribed for low back pain.

It is called Curamin. It contains curcumin and some other things. It is made by Terry Naturally. I have no idea if it is available in the U.K. It is very good for inflammation. I don't know how much it would help non-inflammatory pain. I think it is supposed to.

Radio Food Programme says doctors not taught about food

How horrifying! :emoji_astonished: There is a lot more than cereal he could eat - donuts, danishes, bear claws, long johns, and all sorts of prepackaged breakfast pastries (s.a. Pop Tarts, in this country). A veritable smorgasbord of starch and fat!

NPR: 2018 April 5. Ineffective treatment often prescribed for low back pain.

Nor will most physicians recommend them. I have a herniated disc. I get a lot of relief from an anti-imflammitory pain med/supplement that I get at the "health-food" store. I seriously think that I would be back of opioids by now if I hadn't found it. ETA: There is no way CBT would work for a...

#OMFScienceWednesday - collection of the posts

@Kalliope, would you put it link to the OMF website, as well as the Facebook link? That would help the brain-fogged members who are not on Facebook, which I am guessing will be more of us.

I really hope that wagon wheels are some kind of biscuit. :D I thing custard would make toast rather soggy. I prefer to eat mine separately.

Medscape: CFS linked to low T3 syndrome (by Miriam Tucker)

That's me - low T3, normal THS. Because it is likely a consequence rather than a cause, my doctor will give me only a small dose (3 x 5 mg) of supplemental T3. Initially it was only 2, but I managed to talk her into 3. It helps a little.

BBC The Inquiry - Is the Knowledge Factory Broken?

I sometimes hear The Inquiry on BBC World Service. I haven't heard that episode, but maybe it hasn't aired here yet. ... I see that it runs on Friday night here. I hope that one is on this Friday and not last Friday.

You have my sympathy on that one.  Could it hurt? Maybe ask your neurologist.
