Just read the BMJ blog. Easily the most poisonous thing I have ever read on me/cfs, at least in many years.
A seemingly reputable reference presenting unscientific reasoning, antecdotal evidence, wish-washy makeup pathology, a dig at behavior of me/cfs patients. Certainty in what happened...
Great article. That being said, and not that the article does this, but I think there may be some backlash from long-covid to me/cfs connections, at least at this stage. Those without me/cfs-like symptoms (and the article mentions this is only 1 category) are maybe right to fear the comparisons...
I can't think of any proper study off the top of my head, but there are many case reports I looked at over the years trying to identify any misdiagnosis.
This case study is a good example.

The congressionally legislated money towards vaccine will go towards vaccines. It's not something the Director can redirect elsewhere. Also, we still have a lot of questions about how long immunity will last, how to lower costs, improve access, etc.. It certainly seems reasonable to keep...
I could be completely wrong about this but I believe this was part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which is now a law (Covid Relief Bill). There was talk about changing it, but I suspect the tiny $1B (the bill itself was $2.3T) remained secure as the bill was not changed last minute...
I think it's a positive sign he's not throwing out findings on twitter anymore, looking to find funding from institutional sources and testing against similar illnesses. As for his reasearch, I don't know enough to say if it excites me or not.
OMF e-mailed an interview with one of the recipients of DoD funding, Dan Wilkinson. Here is the jist of what he says his project is about. Note he will be working in association with Ron Tompkins and Wenzhong Xiao, of the Harvard OMF.
The other project was also named.
*Stay tuned for an...
I don't know if it's been posted in this thread already, but Baraniuk published a paper not completely unrelated about 3 years ago,
Exercise-induced changes in cerebrospinal fluid miRNAs in Gulf War Illness, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and sedentary control subjects, 2017, Baraniuk. Here is the...
Another account of Abilify on Reddit. I won't post anymore of these, but this one references an improvement in functional dyspepsia and occured several years ago:
This study looks pretty interesting as it addresses the psychiatric/biological cause with a large group of adult patients (as Simon noted). I don't know when I'll be able to read it, but I got a little confused by the prepositional phrase regarded PEM which can be easily misread as PEM is a...
Rozen summarizes more of his ideas here. https://sci-hub.se/https://doi.org/10.1111/head.13624 (2019 publication)
The suggestion is that in some cases there is "cervicogenic irritation" due to cervical hypermobility in some subset. However, he does not reference fusion surgery as a treatment...

Obviously the citation is misleading, as 12 patients with no controls can't define the majority of ndph sufferers, probably over-reps women and will all have come through the same clinic (rozen). But, I wil have to find a sci-hub to read this full paper. I was aware of a vague link...
That would be my cynical concern as well. Remember Nath had to be dragged into this and he said it was hard to get researchers involved. Everyone will be much more eager to study post-covid.
I could see this shift in focus from me/cfs to post-covid becoming all-consuming, with me/cfs becoming a...
I also have donated yet, hopefully there will be more like me. But it's a hard time for many here in the states (and elsewhere). I really hope we get there.
That seems like an awful lot. I'm not sure they can get there privately funding. Did MVE mention the PET study he was trying to do, I feel like I read that got funded a few years ago.
Edit: apparently this was never fully funded via another thread.
