Can we please have an emoji for "you have got to be absolutely shitting me"? Thank you.

Michael Sharpe skewered by @JohntheJack on Twitter

He has illustrated this perfectly by showing that he doesn't understand the conflict of interests between his foot and his mouth on twitter.

Changes in fatigue, autonomic functions, and blood biomarkers due to sitting isometric yoga in patients with CFS, 2018, Oka et al

When I read the thread title I thought it must be a surreal Monty Python style spoof. 15 patients? Why doesn't publishing stuff like this ruin people's careers? Are the authors incapable of feeling embarrassment? Plenty of yoga schools in my area manage to come up with much better adverts.

Five qualifiers in one sentence, it's almost as if he was going for a record. A pity he isn't so circumspect when describing the results of the PACE Trial.

Disability New Service: Isle of Man set to scrap its ‘fitness for work’ test

That can be read two ways and still be true. How do they know that the claimants who stopped claiming weren't the most ill who had to stop claiming due to Atos Healthcare's abuse of the system? That still sounds sinister, and patronizing. Why do they assume that patients need encouragement to...

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and Systemic Exertion Intolerance Disease: Three Distinct Clinical Entities; 2018; Twisk

According to the diagram there is hardly any overlap between Ramsey ME and SEID. I would like to see where CCC fits in.

Forward ME Group – Bodily Stress Syndrome

The word "Bodily" seems to have been included almost as an apology. Why don't they just be honest, call it "Mental stress syndrome", and have done with it?

Article by Fiona Fox (SMC) for the Revolutionary Communist Party (c. 1996)

Whenever I hear the word "hegemony" I reckon I've got a good take on the person using it. Just one of my personal heuristics. Could be wrong, but it's worked for me so far. EDIT: In fact wasn't she in Harry Potter?

Article by Fiona Fox (SMC) for the Revolutionary Communist Party (c. 1996)

The last time I read something by someone who was so unashamedly and heroically struggling with the burden of being completely right about everything it was Ayn Rand. Despite being at opposite ends of the political spectrum the two authors have so much in common. Wouldn't it be great to put them...

David Tuller - Trial By Error: A Post About Andrew Lloyd

Well so far I've been very good in managing not to post my suggestion. It would make things a lot easier for the moderation team if we don't start a suggestions competition at this time.

Tinnitus poll: Do you experience it?

You couldn't count how many times I listened to Rust Never Sleeps on my mono cassette player when I was supposed to be doing my homework. My favourite quote about loud music is from Pete Townsend, who was asked why he played so loud. His reply was, "Because there are so many people who just...

Boom & Bust, where's the evidence?

The push crash cycle? EDIT: If you mean what's a better phrase for "boom and bust" in the context of learning to pace, which you probably didn't.

United Kingdom: National Inpatient Centre for Psychological Medicine (NICPM)

I was confined to Leeds for 3 years and spent most of that time in the Newlands pub behind Hyde Park, since sadly firebombed. It was a patch of grass last time I looked on google Earth, with not even a remembrance plaque to say "TiredSam drank here".
