The Times' journalist did choose to tell the stories of two sets of parents that the paper's readership is very likely to empathise with (i.e. working professionals), so I see this as them taking a sympathetic approach to PWME (and carers/parents).
A new 'tool' is being developed to help clinicians access individual patient risk to Covid-19:
Full details here:

It is notable that they don't appear to be considering a person's risk of suffering long term...
More details of the new model being developed can be found here:

It's probably worth being aware that The Times are launching their own radio station at the end of this month (and I think they are sponsors of the Talk Radio station):

If the M.E. community don't get in there...
GPs will be asked to rewrite Covid-19 shielding list using new risk score

Since the most vulnerable...
Even worse when you consider the following horrifying statistics:
https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/news/2020/june/disabled-women-over-11-times-more-likely-die-coronavirus
How many people are there in the average Tescos at any one time? How many pass through the store in one hour? It's impossible to socially distance in these sort of places and with the general public becoming more and more lax with this, things are going to get worse for previously 'shielded'...
The 'shielding' is ending at the end of July (the government says it is being 'paused' but also they will provide new clinical guidelines so that less people have to shield if the programme is reinstated)...
Interesting. I posted comments to DEFRA about the poor nutritional value of the free food parcel contents in response to their online survey early on in the programme.
This is a link for people who prefer meat that comes from farms with the highest husbandry standards. Coombe Farm in Somerset offers a range of organic meats, along with lots of other items including bones for stock, bone broth, organic pies, organic store cupboard items, some organic ready...
Yet this is taught as if there is actual evidence for it. The relevant part of the IAPT therapist curriculum for CFS/ME states the following:

The 'theoretical understanding' underlying the general MUS model that...
My eyes go like that when I'm in severe PEM - it's been like that for almost 30 years since I first got the symptoms of M.E.
Edit: I have anti-histamine eye drops on permanent prescription for this problem. They help a little but my eyes get better after a few days in bed, so it's directly...
If they really cared about their vulnerable customers there is a simple way they could do this via their website (if they paid for the additional service). I recently bought a set of knives and the company directed me to this site (after checkout with a bespoke link for me to complete)...
Unfortunately Abel and Cole don't deliver in my area, they seem to be London based and serve the South of the country (not the South West). Riverford milk is lovely, organic and fresh from the Devon farm, but not from Jersey cows. I think Riverford are trying to increase their range again, but...
Everfield Organics deliver nationwide, next day with DPD. They now have a pretty good range of produce, including dairy, bread, meats, flours and store cupboard items:

I may put in an order with them so that I am considered an 'existing customer' as I think...
Interesting reading one of the comments to the above article. One lady's healthy husband had been put on the shielding list whereas she had been left off, despite meeting the criteria. This is what happened to me with my daughter being put on the list instead of me. I think they must have been...
Following a link from the first HSJ article, I read the shocking information below. I think this may be relevant to members on the forum who have been left off the shielding list despite having other severe conditions.
It's not been officially announced. I was just looking up what the state of play is when I came across a Sun article stating the above and decided to see where they got the information from. The HSJ is somewhat more reliable as a source than the Sun and it's interesting to read the comments from...
