How many people have medical records that are both accurate enough and complete enough to actually let doctors know what has happened to the patient? How many people are assumed to be somatisers on the basis of incomplete records? When I bought my own GP records I discovered that there was some...
I haven't checked this arithmetic, but apparently if the number of pages in the new guideline and the supplementary pages are added together there are approx 2,700 pages to read. How many sick people are going to have the stamina to do that?

So, torturing patients is now an official part of a doctor's job? I know they've done it a lot anyway, but it was never...
Well, that's me stuffed then. I take Tramadol (an opioid) and Naproxen (an NSAID). They do help me a lot. Before I was prescribed them I was in agony. One of my problems is that I'm useless at describing pain and, based on the reactions I get from doctors to my very existence, I'm assumed to be...
My total lack of trust in the medical profession has never been more justified :

I think it's really rather good. It swivels (you can turn the swivelling on or off). You can alter the up/down angle. It has two speeds. And it's quiet. I have tied my fan to a stand I happen to have. I...

Well, I have always thought that "First do no harm" allows for doctors to do nothing. If they do nothing then they aren't causing harm. They aren't preventing harm either, but that never gets mentioned.
I read that men were at greater risk of being infected with Covid-19 than women. Perhaps this, plus the fact that more women develop ME, ended up with a situation where the rates of people developing "long-covid" were more evenly spread between male and female than is usually the case with ME.
There is another factor... Arrogance. Anyone who believes that they know everything there is to know about medicine and that they can know everything there is to know about a patient after a five minute appointment must be arrogant. And of course, the patient's medical records are written by...
I notice that the video in the previous post has been created under the auspices of the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM).
It's worth pointing out what Jonathan Edwards posted here about the RSM ...
