UK: State pension entitlement after a death

Unfortunately my step-Dad passed away recently. I'm now helping my mum with lots of things including finances etc. I believe she is entitled to part of my step-Dad's state pension. They married before 2016 (which seems to be a cut-off), and my step-Dad reached state pension age before April...

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

I agree. I think BACME could be a worthwhile organisation *if they get it right*. BACME is the only form of central orgsanisation within the NHS system for ME/CFS patients as all the clinics and specialist services are individual entities commissioned by local CCGs and run by individual trusts...

United Kingdom: News from BACME - British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS

BACME is in the process of changing their name (whilst maintaining their acronym) to the 'British Association of Clinicians in ME/CFS', which I think is a small but positive step. This is now reflected in the text on their homepage (under 'Who Are We?'), though much of the material on the site...

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Improves Physical Function & Fatigue in Mild & Moderate CFS: A Consecutive RCT, 2021, Gotaas et al

I disagree. Both the Lancet piece and this piece focus on recent studies that purportedly add to evidence for CBT (not to mention the fact the study is from Norway...). I don't think this is a coincidence. Yes, this article is sort of dressed up a standard 'information' piece on 'CFS', but the...

    Experiences with Klimas group

I think a lot of the US people used PR and then stayed on that forum. It's a US-based forum and quite US-centric. That's one reason.

    Experiences with Klimas group

I don't think you'll find many people here as most of us are not in the states. I do know a pwME in the US who I think had consultations with Klimas and who I think is a member of this forum. Message me if you want me to put you in contact with them.

The Most Underfunded Disease at the NIH (Advocacy video by Winston Blick)

Great video - one of the best I've seen. Winston has real skill. Maybe we can use it to our advantage. I'd like to see a UK version.

NICE and Cochrane sign collaborative agreement to deliver ‘living’ guideline recommendations

Yes, there's a Q+A box on the Zoom talk. Whether they look at it is probably up to the host. Last night SW didn't take questions from the audience.

It has passed, Trish. It was last night. I agree that it would be good to have someone from our community attend these meetings, or even join BACME.

But I think SW has been hosting this recent round of talks, and I'm wondering if we are to read anything into his absence next week.
