New Video: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is a terrible name

Another good video, Adam. Do you get someone in to do the narration?

Experience with LDN? low dose naltrexone

Yep. I've found the majority of patients underestimate the effect that natural fluctuations have, and sometimes they don't consider it at all. I think a patient is more likely to want to try a new intervention when they are in a crash — feeling desperate etc. Coming out of a crash would likely...

Experience with LDN? low dose naltrexone

Also, what's the latest with Jared Younger's LDN for ME trial?

Experience with LDN? low dose naltrexone

I took it briefly but had no real change (except vivid dreams). It may not have been long enough. I can't remember now why I chose to stop. I tweeted recently about what I consider undue hype around LDN. While it may seem harsh — and there are people in the Facebook group I mention who have...

    Butterfly symbol for ME/CFS

I'm not a fan of the butterfly logo. It seems a little old-fashioned and a bit too 'cutesy' if that's the right word.

That's pretty much what I had seen. Thanks!

What can PwME hope for in 2023?

I don't think we're gonna get results from DecodeME this year — not after recent delays. Paper writing usually takes at least 6 months. Probably spring 2024 IMO.

    Fold-up chair for kitchen

Thanks. Yes, I've seen something like this before. Could be an option, but seems maybe overkill (and a little pricey).

    Fold-up chair for kitchen

I guess it's not really a chair without a back. More of a stool — but that would be too low.

    Fold-up chair for kitchen

Yep, that's the same design, but the one I saw was more of a chair/perching stool than a small stool. These would be too low (I think), though I will check the heights of these. I'd like a version of this where I could sit/perch at a higher height.

    Fold-up chair for kitchen

I recently saw a chair that would be perfect for me in the kitchen. It's one of those where it has x-shaped legs when extended, and at the top has a simple canvas strip for support, with no back. When folded it could be placed in a small gap of say 10cm. Does anyone know what these are called...

Low resting heart rate / Brachycardia

Not an expert but I don't think a resting HR in the 50s is 'too low'. Mine can also be in the 50s, although usually around 60 bpm.

Effect of using a structured pacing protocol on post-exertional symptom exacerbation and health status in a longitudinal cohort... 2022 Parker et al

Yep. And being able to attribute PEM as a discrete episode attributable to X, Y, or Z, is just nonsense. Doesn't work like that. This is gross oversimplification.

Effect of using a structured pacing protocol on post-exertional symptom exacerbation and health status in a longitudinal cohort... 2022 Parker et al

Classic MEA just sharing the article without any analysis / caveats. Not good enough. EDIT: There is now a post below this saying MEA recommends pacing etc, but at the very least they should be adding these disclaimers to the original post. Others in the replies have raised the same concers...

Effect of using a structured pacing protocol on post-exertional symptom exacerbation and health status in a longitudinal cohort... 2022 Parker et al

This article cleverly uses the story of someone much more severely affected than those in the study (90% of whom were employed).
