As @PeterW has just posted on Twitter;
In an email he has shared it states that they have full copies of documents for the extraordinary general meeting in 2014;
So, have they destroyed them or are they just not sharing them? His email to @Peter Trewhitt seems to suggest 'not being kept'...
He's just shown his hand, hasn't he - he's playing the 10 year card.
But really, what's he hiding? Have they really just deleted all record of the minutes of the meeting, or, are they just refusing to share what they have because it's over ten years?
Still, the minutes would surely have to...
In other words; quieten down you pesky ill people, we have far more important things to be doing that focusing on governance and being a well run charity. Suspect that all came copied and pasted from the pen of Riley himself.
They clearly haven't asked themselves the question; why are these...
How he feels that is appropriate is beyond me. Dread to think how he refers to those who are causing him a bit of a headache right now.
The more I see, the less suited I believe he is to any kind of role with any charity. He should skulk off into a deeply resentful retirement.
I’d hazard a...
I bet there is a member somewhere who has a pile of MEA magazines (unopened, of course) from the year dot festering in the corner of their living room. We need to find a hoarder.
The only possibilities I can conclude; Riley is trying to be clever (and failing), they have something they really don't want to make public, or, they are just utterly incompetent and should not be in charge of the charity (or, a combo of a three).
The subject of this post piqued my interest, to see how awful a piece it was and I wasn't disappointed.
It has demonstrated that they can, over a period of time, ask some questions of some people with ME and write down some answers. Well done them. Big round of applause, pat yourselves on the...
According to the Charity Commission website;
Retention of minutes – companies and CIOs
Trustees of charitable companies must:
take minutes at trustee meetings, and
store minutes for at least 10 years from the date of the meeting
You can store copies of your company’s minutes electronically...
Agreed. I think I said very early on in this that it was a lost cause or similar.
However, there is still a large constituency of people with ME who don't follow the machinations of how the charity is run, aren't offended by some of the pap they share on social media, just see the Facebook...
I think this hits the nail on the head, it really feels like they just want everyone to be grateful, they know best and just shut up.
I'm sure many, if not most, of us (me included) are grateful for some of what they do; especially what Charles Shepherd has done (and continues to do), but this...
And, where matters of confusion concerning the very articles that govern how the charity is run, one would hope that more than minor involvement was the case for all trustees.
If not, agree, very problematic.
As we have established previously, all trustees are equally responsible for the correct running of the organisation, something they may need reminding of if they are blindly rowing in behind Riley.
Feels to me like they treat it as ‘their’ organisation rather than that of the members and those they support. Hence, I don’t believe they represent me.
I think this is where I struggle with it; both trusted sources of the articles that have been in the public domain for a significant period of time, match (CH and MEA websites).
Doesn’t seem to exist. No meeting info seems to have been shared since the 2013 meeting from what I could see.
My brain and body is mush now, am logging off here and Twitter for a bit.
Am hugely resentful of the MEA causing a bunch of really sick people that they suggest they represent the...
