Coronavirus - worldwide spread and control

Super, hope they’re not doing it in north Vietnam too, my temperature is always crazy. I’m currently floating around in the sea not far from China. Had a hacking cough for last few weeks with temperature but I seem to have shaken it. Tons of people with hacking coughs here.

    Delayed wound healing?

I have extremely slow wound healing, though I’m hypermobile and possibly EDS. Got a daith ear piercing, was told it can take up to 9 months to heal. Had mine 2.5 years and still not healed haha

Article: Electric Scooter Stolen From Woman Who Struggles With Condition That Impacts Stamina Jan 2020

Lol! @Sly Saint  but seriously, poor woman. Note to self: don’t go down the outdoor storage route  I feel her pain on the ‘expanded then shrunken down again’ feeling  Absolutely infuriating. I’ve been on for the last month trying to sell my scooter as it’s pointless; and...

    Orthostatic intolerance

After mentioning it on one of our PoTS threads a month or so ago, I’m definitely noticing worsening PoTS when I’m resting after activity/being out. I’ve been checking my watch to see when it’s at its most prevalent and it’s during the first few hours after activity when I’m completely resting...

'Women have been woefully neglected': does medical science have a gender problem? Dec. 18, 2019, Nicola Slawson, The Guardian

Title: women have been woefully neglected. Me: nodding yes, before even reading the article which I psychically guessed the content of before even reading lol

    Tilt table test

I did the home testing first, presented the results to GP then did the TTT in hospital. I’ve noticed recently, that my PoTS doesn’t seem to cause PEM afterwards; instead I tend to get PoTS either during PEM from exertion, or before the PEM has began. last time I walked a mile, my heart rate...

United Kingdom: Getting a Wheelchair on the NHS

So if you’re in the south, more likely to be refused? I’ve always had home assessments. With doctor backing it, its never been a problem. I’m north.

United Kingdom: Getting a Wheelchair on the NHS

They probably conveniently omit the wheelchair information too if its privately bought, if they wish to do so. Harder to omit if its on your medical records after being prescribed one.

United Kingdom: Getting a Wheelchair on the NHS

That’s really interesting! Must depend on the area. I literally had an assessor make a comment about me choosing to use a wheelchair, 10 years ago with my bought one. Choosing to use one didn’t count as needing one. I even got the snotty comment ‘and who told you to use one of those?’ (I was...

Associations between gabapentinoids and suicidal behaviour, unintentional overdoses, injuries, road traffic incidents, etc., 2019, Molero et al.

Mine was exactly the same, only after the fact. Even after explaining what happened to me she didn’t really believe me. Mine prescribed 50mg from the start. That sounds really horrible :( I’m sorry you experienced that. Even on 50mg i never experienced anxiety. I really liked the almost manic...

Associations between gabapentinoids and suicidal behaviour, unintentional overdoses, injuries, road traffic incidents, etc., 2019, Molero et al.

I find this topic fascinating and equally disturbing. I already wrote about my strange experiences with pregagablin, i thought it was on this forum but maybe it was at the other place as i can’t find it. Was hoping to find it to save explaining again  I wasn’t in the worst age range...

CBD oil: Have the benefits been overstated? (BBC Health)

I tried a CBD vape a couple of years ago. It did absolutely nothing. I passed it on to a friend with arthritis and I think it did nothing for her too (though she was used to smoking the traditional stuff for her pain and she said there’s was no comparison between the two)

    Induced coma

Its a shame about the cost, it seems like a great way of forcing complete rest, something a lot of us struggle to do even on a basic level. It sounds like absolute bliss.

Noise cancelling headphones! Oh Joy! (and other ways to block sound)

They are amazing, I had to buy some as I was almost suicidal when neighbour below started blasting music every day a few years ago. Only problem is mine hurt my ears after 20 mins so I have to take them off regularly. The blasting music still shakes my bedroom floor from beneath but sound...

Crashed. Could hayfever have done this?

Sorry to hear you’re not good at the moment @Squeezy  It could be hayfever, or the meds, combined with life situations catching up with you at the mo causing you to be more run down than usual. Maybe its all been building and you’ve been too busy dealing with things to allow the crash to...

    The Week: I'm a 40-year-old stay-at-home kid - and it isn't so bad

So well put and true, this almost made me cry. The only reason i didn’t shed a tear is because i don’t have the energy to produce one right now. We need these bullet pointed and posterized

    The Week: I'm a 40-year-old stay-at-home kid - and it isn't so bad

Exactly my thoughts. The cost is too great plus, how long they manage to keep the PwME alive while inflicting and torturing said person with their version of help is anyone’s guess. The potential for finding ourselves in this situation in the future haunts many of us.

    The Week: I'm a 40-year-old stay-at-home kid - and it isn't so bad

"Oh come on," she said. "You don't want to live with your mother for the rest of your life, do you?" I don’t live with my parents because it was abusive; but at the age i’m at now, after 20 years of hell. If a therapist ever said something like that to me; presuming they’d been made fully aware...
