I've not read the article yet, but I think this relevant.
From my own experience and my female relatives experiences it's true that women can be fobbed off and told it's normal (for example pelvic pain) and told to learn to manage it with the good old 'lifestyle changes'. Not that lifestyle...
Indeed. It's a bit of a worry because they are needing to rule out anything ''nasty''. But, well what can you do only wait. I'll let you know what it is when I ''eventually'' find out. :hug:
I was called in for the scan results. As the US scan was inconclusive the GP has referred me for an MRI as the swollen areas are of concern and things need ruling out. So, that should be soon.
@Andy thanks for this.
I’d like to ask:
1. What are your thoughts on thyroid involvement or hormone involvement in a subset of patients with ME.
2. What are your thoughts on cardiac involvement in a subset of people with ME. Not necessarily regular issues, Microvascular involvement.
3...
Thanks @ringding me too.
@Arnie Pye this is something that I have wondered too, as I have banged both legs on corners - one (the large sausage shaped swelling) very hard. It's what I'm hoping it is to be honest, though I'm wondering why it's still getting bigger and also it's been there likely...
Thanks @ladycatlover
Yeah, it’s so weird. No one seems to know what’s causing the swelling??
The pain - yeah, it’s horrible. So glad I have the appointment, a long wait though.
:hug::hug::hug:
Had the scan. The sonographer seemed thorough. She said I should have results (that go to doctor) within 2 weeks.
I asked if she had seen anything, she said she can only see subcutaneous, that’s as deep as ultrasound scan goes but she hadn’t seen anything of concern.
The swelling is getting...
Thanks to everyone for your good luck wishes - I'm waiting on the appointment. I'll keep you updated and let you know what it is - when I find out. :hug:
An update.
I saw a different doctor for a second opinion on the large swollen area on upper outer thigh. He said he’d never seen anything like it. He said it’s definitely not bursitis (as the other doctor thought it was) and that it needed urgent referral for US scan. He thanked me for...
This is interesting.
My cardiologist told me that there is a chance that when I have menopause and my oestrogen reduces my Microvascular Angina could resolve.
My gynaecologist told me that when I have menopause it is highly likely that my Adenomyosis will resolve.
When my hormones fluctuate...
@Jonathan Edwards
It’s like fluid accumulation, it’s on right thigh. Upper thigh. Just sitting below joint of hip. It’s worse when pain flared.
On other leg the swelling is mid thigh, fluid accumulation. It’s really weird.
The pain bothers me more than the swelling but I’m confused as to...
I have had the MSK CATS appointment.
I saw a lovely (I think physio) @PhysiosforME @Jonathan Edwards
She took a thorough history of all diagnosis from ME onwards.
At this point I’ll point out @PhysiosforME that she was of the opinion that ME and Fibromyalgia are the exact same thing.
From...
Thank you @Jonathan Edwards I’ve written to my Practice Manager to ask her to speak to the doctor(s). I’ve explained how it is currently and that the clinic appointment is around 5 weeks off.
