Free nasal microbiome test/study at uBiome

I'm glad I did mine test when my sinuses were bad. Just hope they were able to capture it from the testing areas further away from the nasopharynx. It sounds like we could be waiting another 3 months. Hope we get it this year! Oh, well, at least it shouldn't be as long as waiting for ME research.

David Tuller's new crowdfunding campaign (April 1, 2018)

I haven't donated yet, but will in the next few days. Depending on how long donations are open for I will try and donate each fortnight a small amount.

ME/CFS Alert - Interview with Michael VanElzakker

I don't know whether there is an established thread for this but with my brain fog I forget all the researchers/research studies to donate to. I wish there were a thread I could go to and see a list. It would be good to refer to when deciding who to donate to next.

Why I want to lie down in public - BBC

I often wish when out that there were shops that offered a bed to lay down on. Even if it were like a hospital ward with curtains to pull around.

    Foot pain

I haven't had a massage in years. My mother had a guy come to the house to give her a back massage every fortnight for awhile. She was giving herself a treat. One time he was here I came out from lying down in my room and while I was chatting to him about massage he came up and gave my back a...

    Foot pain

Thanks @duncan I'm in a tricky situation now regarding antibiotics, which I don't like to think about because it scares me. I have become intolerant to them since menopause. It feels to me like they are now over sterilizing me in a bad way. I never had any problems with antibiotics before this...

    Foot pain

@duncan I get pain mainly after sitting or laying down for a while and it eases up as I start to walk and warm the feet up I guess. Although there is some tenderness or sore points if walking on a hard surface without good cushioning support. If you don't mind, what did you end up taking that...

    Foot pain

Hi @Jo Best Thanks for mentioning. I am thinking of changing my doctor this year. He has been very good to me but I think he tends to see a lot of my symptoms as being caused by ME and I think other illnesses are being missed. I'm going to try and see if I can get a new doctor to send me to a...

    Foot pain

@MErmaid I'd be interested in finding out how much lactic acid build up I have. I only need to go for a short run to catch a bus to make my legs feel thick and heavy. Someone gifted me a bike years ago and I thought it would be good to use for going down to the local dairy instead of walking but...

Tinnitus poll: Do you experience it?

I have to turn the volume down quite a bit while watching cab train rides on youtube because of the loudness of the train horn. I wonder what the state of hearing is like for train engineers on retirement.

Tinnitus poll: Do you experience it?

I voted no because my ears are mostly fine, I think. The only thing I do notice but only every now and then is the sudden sound of what I would liken to the sound the telephone makes when you lift up the handset and put it to your ear. It's that sound that the phone makes before you dial...

    Foot pain

Does anyone else get foot pain? I think my foot pain could be enthesitis. I get streaky tight pain across the middle of the sole of my foot (getting this one while laying down now). I also am experiencing tender soreness, tightness when I get up to walk after sitting or laying down. I can hardly...

Article : Rapid rise in mortality in England and Wales in early 2018 – an investigation is needed

I might be a bit off topic here, excuse please. A few years ago when my mother got very sick after a change of tablets she ended up in hospital with severe withdrawal symptoms. While visiting her I would get up every now and then and go for a walk around the ward and read information about...

Anyone has a stair lift at home ? (Moving, part II)

I was talking to my mother about this a few weeks ago. I would get one if I had my own home with a second story. I would use it and so would my elderly mother. All the best with it all.

    Any experiences with chronic sinusitis?

@adreno Sorry you have joined our club. Hope it is just temporary and you pick back up eventually. I'm not keen on sprays, due to a bad experience with one over 20 years ago. It caused a rebound which was so much worse than the original. The spray was for drying things out while in the first...

How many hours of sleep a night do you need? - Now with Poll

Since getting ME I sleep far less and have never been able to make it up. In the early years of severe I was sleeping 2-3-4 hours sleep (it was bad) and many nights I didn't sleep at all. In my moderate years I began to get up to 5-6 hours. I think it was around 2010 when I began to have some 7...

Onset patterns of chronic fatigue syndrome and myalgic encephalomyelitis (2018) Evans & Jason

@Lilpink I missed something here. A gradual acute would be a staged onset. So you can say both. You had a gradual acute onset or a staged onset. I'm a bit fogged but I think this is how I would take it.
