This intrigues me, because the flux described here relates to molecule conversions per unit time. The biological pathways between this and pwME's energy utilisation is way above my head I'm afraid, but ultimately the energy limitation pwME primarily suffer from (I'm pretty sure) is...
I think one of the greatest advocacy hurdles, albeit not necessarily recognised as such, is the fact non-sufferers cannot know what it is like to have ME/CFS, whilst believing they do.
My wife has ME/CFS, not me. At best I can only get glimpses into what the 'fatigue' aspect is like for her...

When will these people learn to tell their 'arris from their elbow!
Properly diagnosed ME/CFS is not due to to being deconditioned, but there will nonetheless be a correlation/link/association in many cases ... but the causal relationship is the other way round from what they are...
I would think it important to have more understanding and reporting of the dropouts. Else it's like doing a study on 69 cars to see if they pass an MOT test, and not knowing it some of the 50% dropped out because they couldn't make it to the test centre.
Surely there is something else significant about this graph, other than the very high value reached by the "ME/CFS Cells in CFS Plasma" line. The shape of the lines.
"Healthy Cells in Healthy Plasma" is the only line that is almost straight. The others have the same characteristic drop in...
You wouldn't even need the internet. Just programme them to self-administer their own CBT. Could have a little screen and speaker built into their navel and just gaze into it.
I very much doubt there are any more. But modern communications has made it easier for them to collaborate, whilst also making it easier to expose them.
Personally I agree with you. There are people in society who gain their influence and power by distinctly Machiavellian means. Self-centred skill at social engineering, combined with lack of scruples, trumps lack of ability they claim to have. There's nothing unusual about it; for some people it...
Yes I wasn't suggesting it be insincere, the sincerity came across loud and clear (else it would have been an own goal). I just meant it was good to focus on that side of things as well - came across as well balanced.
I also like the slightly different approach - praising the good stuff initially. That will probably bring more people on board; more likely to accept that the bad bits are just as objective as the good bits.
A bit like asking someone who might be prone to lying if they have been lying. (And no, politics couldn't be further from my mind   ).
Yes, I'm keenly aware that in a person there will be multiple types of energy conversion going on, in some sort of 'energy chain', whereas for a car it is primarily chemical to heat energy conversion.
But a self-regulation system adjusts its signals according to the needs of the system being regulated. If a furnace temperature starts dropping below its setpoint (target) temperature, then appropriate signals influence the controller to increase the power into the heater; if it gets too hot the...
If you apply a given force to move something by a given distance, then it requires a given amount of energy to do that. It does not matter if it takes you a second or a year to do it, it still takes the same amount of energy to do it. But power is about how fast it gets done. To do it twice as...
