Repurposing Drugs for Post–COVID-19 Fatigue Syndrome Methylphenidate, Duloxetine, and Brexpiprazole, 2022, Manu

thanks @Arnie Pye I've been digging this morning and it dosn't look good - one of the side effects is a tightening of bladder muscles ( i suspect this is why it is used for bladder issues/ stress incontinence) - I can only supose that the GP is a bit confused as the issue is the opposite.

Repurposing Drugs for Post–COVID-19 Fatigue Syndrome Methylphenidate, Duloxetine, and Brexpiprazole, 2022, Manu

Duloxetine is one of the pain relief options open to PwME. Mixed experiences but it does work for some ( MEA have a leaflet on it). It's also used for bladder issues. Gp has suggested it gor my daughter as the muscle tightness she has affects bladder and currently there is no way she could...

Evidence that "Long Covid" is different from ME/CFS?

Thanks @Wyva . Looks interesting. It would be good to have more international coordination to maximise what can be done. Children are different: the prognosis for recovery from ME is noted as better. How much of this is due to misdiagnosis or is simply mildly affected adjusting to a new "...

Risk for Newly Diagnosed Diabetes >30 Days After SARS-CoV-2 Infection Among Persons Aged <18 years, 2022, Barrett et al

I thought this may have been just type 2 but it seems to be type 1 too which I had understood as being inherited genetics. Does this mean that type 1 is simply being picked up as kids are ill and would have developed to the point where its would have been diagnosed anyway . Is this a marker...

Evidence that "Long Covid" is different from ME/CFS?

The weight of numbers. I don't think those with SARS were ever offered any distinction. The initial trigger virus may have some idiosyncrasies ( which may exist with different viral ME onset anyway - has this really been seriously studied in any depth ) The degree of symptom overlap and...

A descriptive, retrospective case series of patients with factitious disorder imposed on self, 2021, Berar et al

If you don't look you don't find. In children this is especially true . There is little established literature - hardly surprising given the paediatric research offerings in UK. When the science used to back up legal.proceedings is Crawley et al what hope is there? My daughter's pain and...
