Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) - The Need for Radical Reform, 2018, Scott

Eta: Sorry, I'd seen the Scott paper but wasn't aware the JHP was dedicating a section to IAPT in its August edition.

UK 21 June 2018 | 3-hour ME debate in Westminster Hall, secured by Carol Monaghan

I'm glad to read your appeal was successful @AR68. It sounds like they felt you met substantial risk to health under the ESA Regs. It might be a slightly different kettle of fish wrt mandatory reconsiderations in particular but also the appeals process for WRAG-associated sanctions, simply...

Both CAB & Benefits & Work say roughly the same thing in relation to condition management for the ESA work-related activity group. Benefits and Work: "ESA work-related activity group members have to attend work-focused interviews and may have to undertake work-related activities, such as...

    Video Recorded PIP Assessments...

I imagine the eventual reality will possibly be a choice of video recording or no recording, the latter leaving the claimant potentially subject to the type of situation Trish and many others have experienced. The problem of videotaping for claimants with ME is compounded by the invisibility of...

    Video Recorded PIP Assessments...

The DWP know that audio recording makes assessors nervous and more likely to green light claims so this will be an attempt to redress the DWP concession to audio recording all PIP assessments. Claimant appearance, demeanour, bearing and movement in physical exams will be captured. It's an...

UK 21 June 2018 | 3-hour ME debate in Westminster Hall, secured by Carol Monaghan

It may (or may not) be that Pound thinks myalgic and myelitis have the same medico-etymological derivation (which is an error I've seen before.)

I ask as in the original employment adviser in IAPT pilot, employers were contacted to make them aware of the possibility of referring to employment advisers under the pilot in services where referral rates were low. Just wondering if this is a referral tack.

Did your employer specifically ask you to have yourself referred to an IAPT service?

Evidence Week - Sense About Science

I believe Simon Wessely previously served on the SAS advisory board. He was awarded the John Maddox Prize in 2012.. ".. for his ambition and courage in the field of ME (chronic fatigue syndrome) and Gulf War syndrome, and the way he has dealt bravely with intimidation and harassment when...

From the ABC interview: "Norman Swan: What were the doctors doing for them? "Michael Sharpe: The doctors also had guidance on what to do and they do some very important things. The first thing, obviously, is to be clear with the patient what's wrong with them; then to give them some general...
