'A life I can cope with'. An alternative model of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for CFS/ME, Clark et al., 2021

Same with Amygdala retraining. Just start calling your spider Amy and you'll be ok.

PEM discussion thread - post-exertional malaise

I don't know if I experienced orthostatic impairment during my earlier years of PEM. I certainly didn't have any issues being upright or distressing symptoms of OI back then. I developed OI after a relapse from taking immune modulators in 2002 that reactivated both HHV6 and EBV. It...

PEM discussion thread - post-exertional malaise

I was a marathon runner and continued to run after I had ME. I became ill in 1991, and PEM wasn't even a term back then, delayed PEM was the most bizarre thing I ever experienced. I would recover a few days after exercise and felt I was back to 'normal', but over the next couple of...

Video: Phil Murrays ME/CFS full recovery story & call for more research funding

My symptoms did not improve after constant viral reactivations, it actually brought me down further and I started experiencing orthostatic impairment which made me more disabled.

Hey Phil, Nice to see you here and sharing your recovery, and congrats on your improvement. Did you experience delayed PEM? What I would describe as immediate PEM would always involve either environment(allergies) or immunological issues (viral) My PEM has always been delayed...

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Cardiovascular Disease: JACC State-of-the-Art Review, 2021, Natelson et al

Activities helps to maintain some level of 'fitness', whereas exercise increases our level of fitness? They are not interchangeable.

I would love it if Phil joined in our thread here. I also improved earlier on in the illness and was able to do more, but I hit a wall 18 years ago and can not increase anymore. If I stay within my 'energy boundary' I won't experience PEM. It would be interesting to know why Phil...

Video: Phil Murrays ME/CFS full recovery story & call for more research funding

Yes, my misinterpretation was that doing more made him feel better, so he was able to do more. I was able to do more early in the illness over time naturally, but when I went over my 'limits' is when I started experiencing PEM despite how well I felt when I recovered from PEM a few days...

I have no one doubt he recovered. It's encouraging to read stories about people who suffered and recovered. The thing with ME is that you can go into remission. We can pace and rest for 30 years and still have ME once we start being fully active again. Pacing and resting doesn't...

Seasonal Effects on Gene Expression, 2015, Anita Goldinger et al.

My seasonal effect disorder is worse starting mid summer. The constant sunshine and heat gives me anxiety and I need darkness. I start feeling better during the colder winter months.

Paul Garner on Long Covid and ME/CFS - BMJ articles and other media.

He is unable to accept the fact that he never had ME. Digging in the archives now to try and prove his point is just embarrassing for someone in his position.

I also forgot to mention that I was vaccinated (tetanus, rubella and Hep B) during that 6 months period, and it was after the second Hep B jab that I started losing stamina. I could no longer walk to school and started taking the bus.

    Oxaloacetate

I'm going to assume that the participants had all their metabolites tested, including Oxaloacetate before taking the supplement? I had other metabolites tested on my OAT, and there are 3 others at the beginning of the citric acid cycle that were below normal range.
