    Blue sclera (iron deficiency?)

Hmm, just checked my last lab results and my iron serum was at 36ug/dL about a year ago. 11% iron saturation. Both below Labcorp's range. Though, 7 years ago it was at 95, and I felt awful then too.

    Modern environmental factors

Fluoroquinolone-induced serious, persistent, multisymptom adverse effects, Golomb et al, 2015 (Fluoroquinolones are a class of antibiotics. One example is ciprofloxacin.) This study isn't about ME/CFS, it's just talking about a variety of symptoms from taking these drugs, but the delayed...

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

Maybe it'd be good to reach out to some of the journalists doing it right, like Ed Yong, to get their input on how to best structure this for other journalists. I don't think I have the energy to do this, but just throwing it out there.

BBC: How Long Concussion could offer new insights into Long Covid

Yeah, reminded me of what we were talking about with eye tracking: https://www.s4me.info/threads/idea-for-machine-learning-model-to-track-fatigue-accurately.38583/#post-536370 I might try to see if I can find the exact technique they used to see if it can be done without special equipment.

Not sure who to contact other than Jaime, so I sent her a tweet.

Tool to see daily view counts on popular pages of MEpedia

MEpedia seems to be barely working right now. It was going extremely slow a few minutes ago, like 5 minutes to load a page, and now it's saying "technical difficulties" for me.

Tool to see daily view counts on popular pages of MEpedia

Splitting this off into its own thread to not derail a couple other threads. @Yann04 had the idea to track page views on individual pages of MEpedia to see what is most popular, and thus should probably have priority for being worked on. So I made a script to scrape the lifetime views of each...

Chronic fatigue syndrome post-COVID-19: triple-blind randomised clinical trial of Astragalus root extract 2024 Banihashemi et al

I mean, it seems pretty significant. Even if it's not actually CFS, which it probably isn't, it looks like this plant might be useful for something. Although, I barely understand any of the statistics on the second chart.

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

Yeah, I can even stick a graph on there to show daily views over time. Maybe even with the ability to show the graph for individual pages.

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

I'm guessing it's gotten significantly more popular with time, but they haven't upgraded their server/network to handle the higher traffic.

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

One thing you can do when the draft page is done and its contents copied over, since deleting isn't an option, is moving it (renaming it) to a page in the User namespace. On Wikipedia, it's common to have subpages on the userspace that are less polished or not super related to Wikipedia, that...

BBC: How Long Concussion could offer new insights into Long Covid

I think with every related condition, it's a big win for everyone because it's, effectively, more scientists working on the problem for both conditions. And once it's known they're related, the two groups can collaborate and share research. Plus the combined voices of patients are louder if...

    Loss of smell and taste

Probably. I was thinking having a fan for good air circulation might help.

    Loss of smell and taste

I did the first test. I did not detect cinnamon in all five 0 drop tubes as well as 4 drops and 8 drops. And also, strangely, 44 drops. I did smell cinnamon in the rest of them: 12 16 20 24 28 32 36 40 48 52 56 60 So I think I need to lower the concentration of all the tubes by about half...
