Chronic fatigue syndrome post-COVID-19: triple-blind randomised clinical trial of Astragalus root extract 2024 Banihashemi et al

If you're correct that there was more improvement in the control but they decided to claim the herb helps because the intervention group did improve from baseline, I might cry.

Chronic fatigue syndrome post-COVID-19: triple-blind randomised clinical trial of Astragalus root extract 2024 Banihashemi et al

Based on just the objective results claimed in the abstract, I'm not sure why you guys are dismissing this so easily. @SNT Gatchaman Can you paste any charts showing effect size? Also, do they go into more detail on the DePaul questionnaire? MEpedia says:

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

Oh lol okay I saw you add the note and hoped I could get to you before the page creation. Not a big deal. I did email the contact address for MEpedia yesterday to see if they can add a Draft namespace, we'll see if that works.

Actually, maybe don't make a Draft page. It looks like regular users can't delete pages, so after the draft is done, there will be an extra draft page in the Main namespace floating around for who knows how long, showing up in places like stats and Random page.

    Animal research for ME

That's true. So I'd go to the question, why does it seem okay? Is it because there's actually some difference that matters morally in all these cases, or does it just feel that way because animals are so different? To me, it mostly seems like the latter, as well as because that's how it's...

    Baricitinib Trial Poll

REVERSE-LC was originally a pilot study and they converted it:

    Protocol REVERSE-Long COVID-19 With Baricitinib Study (REVERSE-LC)

I can't find much on baricitinib and LC, but here's something: Demystifying Long COVID International Conference 2023, Abstract book, Page 22: Baricitinib, a Possible Therapeutic Option for Long COVID, Bertan et al

    Baricitinib Trial Poll

One two person LC case report I found on Twitter. Most evidence seems to be about acute COVID. https://www.s4me.info/threads/reverse-long-covid-19-with-baricitinib-study-reverse-lc.36979/#post-536631

[Thought experiment] In a random cohort of 100 ME/CFS patients (recent diagnosis via CCC), what can you know about them with 90%+ certainty?

I thought the norm was P-E-M until I heard someone during the NIH research roadmap webinar say "pem", and I've grown to prefer it because it doesn't sound as unwieldy. Similarly, ME/CFS sounds very long and clunky to me, and ME feels so much more natural, especially if repeating the acronym...

    Loss of smell and taste

Preparation for my DIY anosmia test has begun! Here are my notes on how I prepared various concentrations of cinnamon in water: I was trying with ground coffee and cinnamon. Ended up going with cinnamon, but I think coffee would have worked. Test tubes filled with various numbers of...

    The MEpedia Primer for Journalists

That might not matter, I'm not totally sure. You can still just create an article named "Draft: Primer_for_journalists". I'm not sure how much actual difference having it be an official namespace has. Edit: Lol I can't write "Draft: Primer" without a space because: Draft:Primer.

I think the Draft option is best. Maybe a note at the top of the real one that a new version is being worked on, with a link to it.

    Animal research for ME

I tend to ask myself for anything involving animals, would this be acceptable to do to a human? Would society be okay with injecting healthy humans with LC blood, trying to induce LC symptoms? If not, what's the reason it feels okay to do to an animal?

    USA: News from #MEAction

Just did it. It took about 45 minutes to do the whole thing. I wish there was some indicator that I could pause at any time and all my answers up to that point would be saved (maybe it did say that at the start). But I pushed through and was feeling pretty tired by the end. But I liked most of...

    Auto-brewery syndrome linked to ME?

Auto-Brewery Syndrome, Painter et al, 19 Jan 2023 Only two inline citations are given after that paragraph, and only one of them mentions fatigue, but says "chronic fatigue", not "chronic fatigue syndrome". I assume they made a mistake writing CFS. A news article about auto-brewery syndrome...

Maybe try toggling "Ignore thread" on then back off if you haven't already. Otherwise, I'd post about it in the Technical Support forum.
