I hope Waitrose take this opportunity to expand, like Ocado has done. In my area I still had to book slots about 10 days ahead of time, but there was a choice of slots for the 10-14 day period. I don't know what time Waitrose add their next day's slot. I will try to work this out. I still have...
I gave away most of the cans I had from my previous government food parcels to the local food bank last month, as I really don't like canned soup and am trying to change to eating organic food only. I think they may have had a lot of donations over the Xmas period as they are showing they have...
So, we're back to struggling to get supermarket slots again...
Despite getting priority delivery there was only a single slot available (for 2 week's time) when I just checked Waitrose.
However, I have found Waitrose the best in my area recently, as good as Ocado. It appears that since they...
Turns out my eldest was invited to do this, but she had just moved from the address the letter was sent to and they said she therefore couldn't participate (despite moving within the same town).
It would have been useful for her as a secondary school teacher. Her school had been doing well with...
The policy seems to be more about reducing the immediate pressure on the NHS than achieving herd immunity in the general population in the shorter term:

I find reading some of...
I think the title is quite an interesting choice, as it is revealing of the expectation bias so many researchers have in the BPS field.
Anyone who judges a study without even reading the abstract can't be taken seriously. The abstract itself gives a summary of the negative findings to the...
It will be interesting to see how Somerset CCG respond to the new ME NICE guidelines, since they spend a paltry £60,000 per annum on the current Specialist CFS/ME Service (for a population over half a million). It doesn't even offer a diagnostic service, just a few sessions of CBT or GET for GP...
It also allows you to see how many times it has been accessed and I think it also shows which members have downloaded it (but it's years since I used my account so I may be mistaken about this).
The trouble is, the converse could be true for other patients. They might find that eating 3 regular meals helps reduce their nausea. In another part of the guideline it states there is no evidence to recommend a restrictive diet, but these also help some patients. So really, I think some of...
That is why we need to re-present the patient survey evidence (and any other relevant evidence) back to them as part of the stakeholder response. Because at least this time they will have to publish their response to the stakeholder comments, for the historical record.
Some of these are merely suggestions, rather than 'recommendations', i.e. just things that are suggested that may help other patients.
Regarding the nausea section, I don't think specific recommendations should be made, it should just say that GPs and consultants should offer the same...
Were these BACME members of the NICE ME/CFS committee sitting with their fingers in their ears, shouting, 'La, la, la, I'm not listening', when the patient survey evidence was being discussed??? Sorry, for the outburst, but I'm feeling pretty fried thinking about the loopholes in the draft...
I think all the NIHR committee members that examine and choose which research applications they approve for public funding, should have to attend training by Jo where he delivers the content of his evidence submitted for our guidelines to them - in person, to enable genuine learning...
