Trial By Error: And Another Prebuttal…

I wonder how much of this 'investigative journalism' has been stirred up to try and distract @dave30th from the work he wanted to do around IAPT and MUS? How much of his valuable time has been lost to addressing all this cr*p? As you can see from the below link, MUS are now being firmly...

Trial By Error: Some Thoughts About an Upcoming Article

I agree absolutely. These are highly paid, experienced medical healthcare professionals. I personally know many people who are working in low paid care worker roles (in mental health support) who receive face to face death threats from their 'clients' on a regular basis. These workers are not...

UK Dec 2018 - £40 million personalised support package for long-term unemployed disabled people launched

This ongoing insanity from the government has been thoroughly dissected by the Spartacus report: https://spartacusnetwork.files.wordpress.com/2017/02/richardsonbenstead-smokescreen-2017.pdf It is a consciously chosen strategy to promote an ideological agenda, not about true compassion and...

David Tuller: Trial By Error: Steve Brine's Troubling Claim in Parliamentary Debate on ME

It is a bit off topic now. However, one thing that underlies the Green Paper on welfare reform for those on ESA is that is is based on the same kind of pseudoscience as is the BPS model of ME (and the RCGP training). I think there is a huge can of worms here. I will try to make comments relating...

David Tuller: Trial By Error: Steve Brine's Troubling Claim in Parliamentary Debate on ME

The latest report on the 2017 Green Paper on Welfare Reform for disabled and sick people (incorporating the responses to the consultation) show where the government are currently at in their desire to bring about change in this area...

David Tuller: Trial By Error: Steve Brine's Troubling Claim in Parliamentary Debate on ME

I think that moving towards this type of model was the thinking behind the controversial 2017 Green Paper, available at: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/work-health-and-disability-improving-lives/work-health-and-disability-green-paper-improving-lives See the following for a brief...

UK House of Lords/ House of Commons - relevant people and questions

Yes, I searched this site too after reading the recent Parliamentary Briefing Paper, available at: http://researchbriefings.files.parliament.uk/documents/CDP-2019-0014/CDP-2019-0014.pdf On page 10 of the paper the authors write: Figures on research expenditure for specific conditions are not...

Article: The Special Sleep That Kicks In During a Sickness

Maybe we could convince the tea industry to do a study on this - the efficacy of CBT vs a nice cuppa in x,y, z conditions? It'd be impossible to blind and the outcomes would be subjective, but that would fit nicely with the current research methodology used in this area of 'science'.

Protocol: Persistent physical symptoms reduction intervention: a system change and evaluation (PRINCE), 2015 onwards, Chalder, Moss-Morris, et al

In the words of Matt Hancock: Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock said: “Personalised care is the future and there’s growing evidence that supporting people to access community services and activities, such as chess clubs or dance classes, has the power to improve people’s...

David Tuller: Trial By Error: Steve Brine's Troubling Claim in Parliamentary Debate on ME

It may be because they didn't realise this training could (currently) be accessed free by any member of the public. I originally subscribed to the RCGP site to try to access their GP training on autism, because the autistic self-advocacy community are aware of the problems of many such 'basic'...

There is published guidance on this, for those unsure of the system in England (I'm not sure if it covers all the UK): https://www.ntw.nhs.uk/content/uploads/2015/12/NTWC05-App1-ConsPts-DrsMakingDecisions-V04.5-Iss-1-Jan-19.pdf and...

UK Parliamentary debate today - Thursday 24th January 2019

Creating a basic account on the RCGP website allows you to access this particular e-learning course (I just put 'volunteer' for my profession when creating an account). I'm just working my way through the course, so can't comment on its content yet.
